Need help identifying an electric motor

BTW, if you want to run in the opposite direction, you have to swap the rotor end-to-end. WRT the stator. That is if the end bells are identical. ;)

Need help identifying an electric motor

It appears to be a AC induction motor shaded pole type that uses shading ring to produce the phase shift. i.e. no capacitor. These are common on small fans etc. They run hot due to the shading turn and the sintered bronze bearings gum up from the heat.

Choosing the correct AC DC adaptor

What I would do is look for an older style AC/DC adaptor (Wall-Wart). These are linear supplies and can handle the in-rush, although not usually regulated, you do not need that for your motor application. Usually tell them by being a heavier feature!

Can't find a PCB designer to hire for cool position. Is PCB design completely ignored in schools?

One person who not only taught Circuit design, but started developing a open source CAD program for his students.. In 1992, Jean-Pierre Charras was teaching at UIT de Grenoble when he started working out a program that is now Kicad and has been taken up by Cern no less. Luckily for the rest of...

    Diagnosing bad motor

Dry bearings? How free is the shaft to turn? Is the motor removed completely?

    Diagnosing bad motor

Firstly i would separate the motor from the gear-box and see if the motor is free to turn. Then check continuity across the motor leads and also try a power source with the GB removed. One of those procedures should turn up a possible reason.

allen bradely vfd no display nothing

Kinetix 3 drives are Servo drives, VFD usually refers to AC induction motor control. Is the main power indicator ON?

    DC motor speed controller

It seems as though the speed signal (PWM?) will be an external signal as all that is on the board is a quad comparator IC and a couple of power IC's.

Looks suspiciously like a DIY board someone put together using one of the Chinese PCB Manuf. for the bare board.

    Battery Charger rewire help

The OP appears to intend bypassing the defective regulation circuit and going directly off the rectified DC ! ? Not a good idea.

    Battery Charger rewire help

Not quite that simple, most decent chargers use a controlled-charge circuit that senses when the attached battery is up to charge and regulates the charge accordingly by lowering the current output.

    12 v fridge controllers

Maybe a market there to put one together, especially considering the extremely low price of board production out of China. !

    12 v fridge controllers

I assume they are P.M. field motors? If so they could be BLDC rather than 3ph, each is virtually identical, just the commutation is different. There are quite a few methods out there. The type of commutation would need to be known, one clue would be the number of conductors to the motor. Also...

    Altium Designer

I suspect not too many here speak Turkish? Quote: Hi, while transferring error to pcb. altium design program freezes. My library is up to date, there is no error when compiling my project. Altium Designer version 22.6.1. What is possession?

Increasing the output voltage of a step-down transformer by reducing the number of coils

A typical auto-transformer could have windings in the 'buck' or 'boost' mode. e.g. using the top primary connection and one of the upper taps, it can also server as low voltage secondary's.

Increasing the output voltage of a step-down transformer by reducing the number of coils

He gave you a bum steer, more turns = higher voltage, i.e. your TFMR has a certain number of turns per volt designed in. The Va (power) rating not only decides the gauge of wire, but it is also depends on the core mass.

Why are these two circuits equivalent?

Separate supplies for Input and output, both with a common point makes them equivalent, also allows for different power supply sources at different levels for both input and output.

Super Simple Home PCB Design Software

If thinking of doing more in the future, it may be wise to get familiar with one of the larger (Free) popular packages such as KiCad. Goes from Schematic capture to board Gerber files required by the board producer. They also have a Forum for help.
