    Sounds like a PSC motor if so and the cap is defective, it would normally spin up by giving it a spin when powering up. Measure the two windings, they normally would be equal resistance, If replacing the cap, it requires a AC motor run rated version. M.

    The most common ones are the MC-60 MC2100 series, any other, you may have to do some reverse-engineering to come to a solution. Do testing with motor disconected, also try lamp in place of the motor, to see if it is related to the motor or loading. M.

    In general, identical secondaries are wound bi-filar, which essentially means they will be balanced when connected in parallel. They each have to be in phase however! This is generally indicated by the start of each winding. M.
