    AC current sensing circuit/relay

With experimentation you may get it to work, A CT requires a burden resistor in order to prevent excess voltage. M.

    a/c motor question

Motor with both run and start caps are usually have the advantage if starting under load,, if it starts with virtually no load, the second one should suffice. M.

    Wall heater went out

Thermal fuses are usually one-shot deal, so if they open, they don't usually reset and work all off a sudden. Did replacing the heater element cure it and it has been working ever since?? Or what is it you actually had replaced? M.

    DC Actuator problem

From that it sounds like the method I mentioned using shunting the armature at turn off. Maybe confirm this, if this is already in place and working properly, then one other way is an electro-magnetic brake. Try and confirm whether it has relay contact braking first that may have poor contacts. M.

Most inexpensive method for detecting if some current is flowing in 120VAC or 240VAC PCB Trace

A better way may be a small hand wound coil of a few turns around the 240v trace. M.

    DC Actuator problem

Many linear actuators do not over run due to the mechanical method used, yours sounds as though it evidently has the ability to over run due to inertia. How is the motor currently driven? By electronic device or relay? A common, easy method usually used to brake a DC motor is to place a short...

    AC current sensing circuit/relay

You may have a problem finding a simple or off-the-shelf solution because of the precise set point and also the variation in current of a AC motor due to momentary current peaks etc. There are current sense devices by Honeywell CSDA series etc, also the cheap ACS712 on ebay, but these have to be...

A horizontal line shows across my xet set.

Do you have a schematic? you must have identified the vert IC somehow. M.

A horizontal line shows across my xet set.

Does the IC include the vertical outputs drivers? Time to get the meter out! M.

    Crimp connectors

They are called barrel crimp connectors, sometimes seen in appliances to join the inline thermal fuse and other purposes etc. M.

    Board repair help

That appear almost identical to the board I repaired last, the Omron relays are usually easily available. I made a new bed of copper strip and just brought the relay pins through it to enable a soldered connection. Generally they only have foil on the one side. I suspect the relay was ok, but...

    Board repair help

I repaired ours just a short while ago, identical symptom. It is a common problem on oven controls, I replaced the relay just to be safe, couple of $$'s But to repair the pcct I used dry-wick copper strip used for de-soldering purposes normally. I have done a few like this in the past, usually...

The ACS series IS a Hall effect device and offers galvanic isolation ;) M.

    Terminal Block and Ring Connectors

First you need to state the wire size in order to select the correct ring connector for that gauge, next, if you have the terminals already selected, then choose a ring dia to suit. They come 3 or 4 diameter per device. IOW there are two dimensions, wire gauge and terminal screw diameter in...

Home theater subwoofer power supply fault

Performs a similar function to the external ferrite chokes often seen on the power cord itself, Google should offer detailed description on common mode chokes and how they are wound, both windings are in series with the mains so it will show 240v in and out. M.

    Choosing a transistor

My first go-to choice is Mosfet if I can, starting with the 2n7000, this is aimed at logic level circuits as is other mosfets rated for low level devices such as micro controller etc. Being transconductance devices, they require much less in the way of drive current over bi-polar version. M.

    Motor control application

I have the older version of the MC LV boards, The MA330031 states: This plug-in module comes with a 64-pin dsPIC33EP256MC506 TQFP device. It enables using the on chip internal OpAmps on the dsPIC device. It can be used with the Microchip MCHV-2 [DM330023-2] and MCLV-2 [DM330021-2] development...

Help to identify markings in schematics

I think what you are referring to is commonly known as Global Labels, rather than clutter a drawing up with a multitude of connections, local labels are defined that match the same label elsewhere in the drawing, as though they were connected. M.
