    Induction motor repair

I assume the motor does not run now? If so you may have cooked it. Apparently there was incorrect safety fusing/overload protection! If the smoke is coming from inside the motor it probably needs a rewind/new motor. M.

    Motor control application

The picmicro board for e.g. uses a 60w to 120w motor, also do you intend sensorless or sensored commutation? See pic 00857a and MC LV board for examples. M.

    Please Help reusing speakers

The speakers are probably 8ohm- 4ohm, you will need speaker output jacks, audio out won't cut it. Usually they have the Red/Blk terminations shown,. M.

    SSR triac not releasing

Not sure such a large one was used in the first place for a 17ma coil? The specs show a min load of 75-100ma to maintain, but 6ma leakage. A much small version of one of the Opto22 range would maybe have been alot more suitable.? M.

Automated Water Mister (closed circuit soleniod switched off)

How is your electronic ability? What is the nature of the signal out of the Moisture sensor? A couple of ways, one is with a LM311 comparitor and a SSR to operate the solenoid if it is a AC solenoid. More info on the sensor and solenoid would be useful. M.

    Motor with Speed Controller

Usually those controllers are simple 555 based PWM generators, what parts smoked, the power semiconductor(s)? What are the motor ratings? There are plenty of these controllers on ebay for ~$5.00. Also very easy to build one. e.g. http://www.discovercircuits.com/DJ-Circuits/simplepwm2.htm M.

Tactile switch image from KICAD. Any idea what is attached to what?

I'm assuming this is related to your question on the P.B. switch that has a internal connection between 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 which is essentially a SPST switch, but you would use the one you show for the benefit of the PCCT footprint/ layout. What you could do is modify the symbol in the part editor...

What is this contactor? Where to get it?

All you really need is the current capacity, (size of the pump motor) and the coil voltage, there are many substitutes that should do the job. They are in common use in the HVAC business. M.

    Stepper motor control

A prime decision on selecting a motion controller or servo, is generally based on the final rpm or positioning rate required, if relatively very slow positioning is required, some system of gearing is used in order to economically size a motor and drive, IOW, It is Pointless to select a powerful...

    Stupid question of the day!

If you are talking about the PCCT 4 pin SP PB they always have continuity across each of the wide pairs, when pushed both these wide pairs are connected together. M.

What is this contactor? Where to get it?

Try any local electrical contractor suppliers in your area, they also may have the same thing in another make I believe Square D is Group Schneider now. Just have the rating details, coil voltage (AC/DC) , current etc. Another source is a HVAC service Co. M.

    Resistor Over Heating

I suggest you read up on the history of stepper drives, resistors are no longer needed. Modern drives should be designed in order that the stepper rated current occurs at all rpm's, even when the power supply to the drive exceeds the motor plate voltage, which should Never be exceeded. IOW the...

    Resistor Over Heating

Modern stepper drives have done away with the old resistor dropping method, usually you use one or the other, a drive that can maintain the rated current regardless of rpm, or the old resistor method that requires a high wattage resistor, M.

What is this device inside our well pump controller box?

Another point against pushing the armature of a contactor over is this seldom proves anything as generally the reason for non-pickup is in the control circuit, also, if fitted, modern O/L;s do not disconnect the power, but drop the control circuit, therefore if a motor exists that has a locked...

What is this device inside our well pump controller box?

I have never been a fan of manual operation of any device, I have always thought of them as a visual indication as to whether they are engaged or not. but the contactors I use (Telemecanique) , the 'actuator' is generally used for auxiliary device use, to attach a aux contact or timer etc. M.

What Are These Parts Called- Where Can I Get Them?

Yes, the way with PLC, most are able to use something called Modbus, for communication the remote I/O devices, via 2 wire communication. M.
