Not really a repair, but some help going in the right direction appreciated

Smell is never a good sign, but it may be because it has not been ran for a length of time. Monitor the temperature after it has ran for while. Can you observe the brushes to see if they are worn? M.

Black dust can also come from motor brush wear. M.

Not really a repair, but some help going in the right direction appreciated

I would guess that if the machine can be hooked up to 230v and the motor plate says 110v then the RPM may be limited by the Triac controller via a limit of some kind. Being a Universal motor it can run on any voltage from rated to down to zero. These (series) motors essentially operate in a...

What is the nature of the motor? Is it a Universal Motor (brushes fitted) by any chance? M.

    Oven not working as expected.

I may be obsessed, been called worse!;). But the high end toaster (1800w) oven had one of these that enabled the various element power, everything else worked. M.

Out of interest what is the numbers etc on the relays? M.

    Oven not working as expected.

Normally you can see where the contact foil on the board goes to. The relay coil is normally the pair with a small diode across. You should be able to bypass the clock contact briefly for test purposes. M.

Often the relay's output to a terminal strip or multi-conductor plug on the edge of the board, the conductors will often go to element terminal connections. If so, These can be traced. M.

    Oven not working as expected.

Generally the only reason they are there is to switch elements, for me, these are the first things to check, many have a burnt PCCT board where the relay pin is soldered to the board, can you see the reverse side? M.

    Oven not working as expected.

I am not familiar with that particular oven, but it has been my experience the CCT board is behind the top panel shown with a clock/timer etc. M.

Can you see any printed circuit board behind the top panel? Is there any small PCCT relays visible? Usually small black or white cubes. M.

I would wager that is also a relay somewhere, the alternative switching device would be a SSR and so far they are few and far between that I have seen. On most they are on the timer/clock/setting panel. M.

The last was a high end toaster oven, replacement miniature relay was $1.50 from ebay. Switching 1800W !! https://www.amazon.ca/Breville-BOV845BSS-Smart-Convection-Toaster/dp/B00XBOXVIA/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1497638838&sr=8-7&keywords=breville+toaster As typical of these kind of items, the...

    Optoisolator Circuit

One advantage of a mosfet is it offers high input impedance over bi-polar. M.

Replaced a few in full sized stoves here, the relays switches the oven elements. M.

    Oven not working as expected.

On recent repairs to both full size ovens and toaster ovens, it has been a small relay that switches the elements on, they are small PCCT relays that are Supposed to carry the required current but I am not surprised they failed in light of the size. A possibility. M.

    Ceiling fan speed transformer

Are you sure this is a transformer? Normally ceiling fans are shaded pole and use a triac/dimmer style for control. I would guess that I is input (power) and F is Fan. M.

Relay problem (buzzing noise) on motor and solenoid control board for hydraulic bath

When motor is voltage is first applied there is no generated/BEMF developed at that point so the current is high, this initial high current is sucking the voltage down. In motor-battery operated systems it is preferable to bring motor rpm up slowly by some method if possible and this prevents...

In need of help with AC motor!

Normally a RPC uses a 3phase motor, fed from 240 1ph. Never seen it done with a 1ph motor. M.
