    Onan control board

If you're ordering everything from Mouser, this fuse will do: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Cooper-Bussmann/BK-MDL-5-R/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMseCiJT91fwIlyoGrb8FM5nRvoWVgkhhKs%3d or you can get it at a local auto, home improvement or electrical store. It's an ordinary 3AG 5A 250V slow blow fuse...

What value of resistors do I need and a sanity check

Around $25 each. They're probably laser trimmed to perfection. That doesn't come cheap especially when you're cutting atoms in half. :p

What value of resistors do I need and a sanity check

Why does the term "electrode cream" make me giggle? You're such a child. This is a serious forum for serious people to discuss serious things. Even with the aforementioned preparations, the tiny current's just going to flow in the scalp making the treatment safe but ineffective. And do...

    Onan control board

10μF 50V 85°C and 100μF 25V 85°C, both radial electrolytic capacitors, are common values that will be easy to find. You need to match the lead spacing of the existing capacitors but don't waste effort looking for specific manufacturer series and production codes. A higher temperature rating...

What value of resistors do I need and a sanity check

Nice schematic Dave. It's so much easier to look at. Skin resistance being what it is, I expect the regulator will always output it's maximum available voltage and still not achieve even the 0.5mA of the lowest setting unless the skin is wet.

    Diode when wet

Yes and they are, by air and glass/ceramic insulators. At an old job, I had an AT power supply submerged in dirty water while powered until it failed. The electrolytic corrosion effects were fascinating. I remember seeing large diode leads concentrically eroded to the point of separation. I...

    You're welcome. :D

What value of resistors do I need and a sanity check

I only read halfway through your post to preserve my sanity. It would be helpful to just tell us what you're hoping to achieve.

    7 segment LED scheme

You see the space in the frame that's reserved for the LEDs but there are probably no die installed.

    Newbie with LED question.

You've just described connecting the LED backwards. Any reverse voltage above 5V or so at the LED should destroy it but maybe the resistance in the circuit is sufficient to prevent that.

Can you try another power supply?

9V alkaline batteries and drawdown time.

Here's the data sheet for the Duracell Coppertop 9V battery (MN1604). http://www.duracell.com/media/en-US/pdf/gtcl/Product_Data_Sheet/NA_DATASHEETS/MN1604_US_CT.pdf

    7 segment LED scheme

I think the colon positions on that model are left unpopulated. I see this a lot on displays. They just forgot to change the drawing.

Measuring a battery's voltage and current

88? I thought you had an 87. The 88 is a multimeter for automotive use. In any case, that only eliminates one possibility.

1N5616 is a 1A diode that can be replaced with NTE506. http://www.nteinc.com/specs/500to599/pdf/nte506.pdf On the aftermarket board, they appear to be using ordinary 1N4007 diodes in that role. I'm still uncertain about the identity of the larger diodes (*552*). There is a third type near the...

Measuring a battery's voltage and current

There are several possibilities. Since you don't know how to use the meter correctly, you may have it set on the wrong range or you may have a test lead plugged into the wrong jack or you may have blown the low current fuse in a previous misadventure. You may have even blown the high current...

Convert Video Camera Battery into USB Power Source

Some regular automotive USB adapters may work. They're usually specified for 12-24V supplies but there's some lattitude. You can sometimes find them at thrift stores in the form of cell phone chargers for $1-2 so it's cheap to experiment. If you find one that works, as a switching regulator, it...

    AC Adapter Question

There is some risk of overcharging the batteries, depending on the design of the charge circuit and your transmit range may be extended a little :D. I'd be looking in thrift stores since I get small power adapters for $1-2 each that way. Just watch out for excessive heating of the batteries...

How to make vacuum tubes light up?

If this is intended for long-term display, I would power the filaments as suggested just to get photos of each tube, then recreate the tube illumination with some orange LEDs and light pipes. It would save on filament wear and power consumption.

What kind of plug is this?

It is and that fact is documented in the article I linked a few posts back.
