    A/C Adapter Help Please

I wrote up a little thing on this for my work and most are either a 2.1x5.5 or a 2.5x5.5 barrel plugs and if you have a ball point pen you can usually tell which is which as it will fit inside the 2.5 and it will not go completely in the 2.1. Works with almost all ball point pens...

    Help finding a switch

I think I would need more information to help find a switch. How do you want to mount this switch. When you say 3mm is that a 3x3x3mm max overall size? What are you powering/controlling?

    LED getting hot

The wall wart does not seem that hot to me. Have you used the power pack prior to this to see what kind of temps it normally runs at?

    LED getting hot

Something wrong here. I agree. Is 250V an input? Better yet do you have a pic of the tag?

    LED getting hot

Since you are using half of the max output you should not be having heat issues. This would lead me to believe that there is something else wrong either with the supply or the circuit if it is getting hot.Warm would not not be considered bad as almost all wall warts will get warm changing AC to DC.

    LED getting hot

What are the specifications on the wall transformer. You are pulling some pretty good power out of a wall wart. I think I calculated about 9W.

    PCs blowing up

Have you tested the outlet that you are plugging into? If they are frying that fast you either have a dead short in your PCs or a voltage issue in your outlet.

Please Help replacing 2 power adapters with 1 battery or power bank.

Depending on what all you want to use it for. pi actually recommends a supply that will do 2A for full functionality. If you are not using it to power anything just to control the screen you can probably get by with much, much less.

Please Help replacing 2 power adapters with 1 battery or power bank.

This may be a bit much but here is a power supply that will do 12v up to 7A and 5V at up to 3A. https://www.digikey.com/short/30w824

Suitable 3.3V voltage regulator(charge pump) for Lipo battery?

It looks like Digi-Key has a reference design library. Might be a good one to check out. A little different application but might give you some ideas. https://www.digikey.com/reference-designs/en/lighting/led-drivers-ac-offline/47

Best/safest way to use car radio as a garage radio

If you are building an enclosure you could always use an external power supply. Look at these. https://www.digikey.com/short/30pbmm

Best/safest way to use car radio as a garage radio

You can find them many places. Here is a link to some I found at Digi-Key for example. You would just need to know the current that you need to run your radio. https://www.digikey.com/short/30p9nw

    Ambient Temperature Sensor (Thermistor)

The only way you would be able to do this would be to test the reading at certain temps and if the readings are linear you may be able to figure out what value to add to adjust.

    Substitute for ACS08, a Triac I think?

I believe the part number you have is ACS108-5SA-AP (Obsolete). Digi-Key lists a replacement for this part of 497-12437-1-ND (ACS108-6SA-AP) https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/stmicroelectronics/ACS108-6SA-AP/497-12437-1-ND/2864607

How fragile are diodes? Can you screw them up soldering them?

Looking at the circuit there is a good chance that you are not reading through the diode and instead are reading through the circuit and that is what you are getting your readings. The section below looks like you would just read through the opposite diode.

    SMPS inverter common problem

If it is happening on multiple different power supplies then it sounds like something is being hooked up wrong. Do you have any pictures of how you have it wired and what is "blowing up"?
