    Thanks for the heads-up on this techforce. Kind of annoying that once-popular components, that you see in a lot of equipment, become 'obsolete', and you have to hunt for 'equivalents' when they are no longer made.

    Yeah, did all that. I'm pretty sure from what I've read, that the factory lube on the tapes dried-up. The tapes are over 40 years old. They work, except for the squealing, and I'd like to salvage them.
