    Put Q618 back in circuit then power up and measure the voltage at Q618 emitter. Where are you putting your test meter negative lead when measuring those voltages?

    I did read your post - my response was simply a comment, not an instruction. For most steppers the current will be limited by the coil resistance and devices as small as your stepper won't suffer. Do you have any technical spec on the stepper motor itself?

    You can fit MOSFETS with higher ratings but that doesn't necessarily mean you can get more power out from the inverter. There will be feedback measurements that limit the output as part of the regulation circuitry.
