    help with IR2110 chips

so I took some reading of the two mounted coils coil 1: voltage open ended 13.43volts and then with resistor 20 ohm power resistor the amps with the clamp = 0.15amps did not measure the votage across the resistor coil 2: voltage open ended 18.19volts withe the 20ohm resistor amps with clamp...

    help with IR2110 chips

Mouted the coils again, didn't get chance to run it up or make new measurements though, thanks

magnets stuck with super glue coils stuck with hot glue

so might not get on the machine today, we'll see later! thanks

A bit un-called for to be fair!

funny you should suggest that because I did think of that myself but the coils would need to be rewound not too much of a problem just time !! thanks

    help with IR2110 chips

so it worked on one side but still snapped over on the other side so need to remount the coil again with the same gap as before not the best result but it's renderable! not good!

stuck the rest of the pennies waiting for glue to dry will probably mount the wheel again tomorrow but could be tonight see what happens and how to night plays out, wish me luck! thanks

    help with IR2110 chips

the information matches up with what Mr Alec_t was saying about the coil : magnet ratio. On thier machine the optimum was 3 : 4 !!

that is a very nice one!! yes a very nice read! thanks

I just want to add that if I could move the coils closer, I would!! thanks

    help with IR2110 chips

blue is magnet, yellow is core of coil, red is pennies, grey is coil this is a top view and this image tries to explain that when moving the coil over to the magnet at some point the magnet is soo strong that you cannot hold it from spapping over to the magnet!! thanks, and thus the air gap is...

    help with IR2110 chips

so the penny will be extending the magnet power towards the coil as the air gap decreases, because of the penny, you have essentially just described the effect that I'm after! moving the coil towards the magnet or extending the magnet to the coil, both will have the same effect you are correct...

    help with IR2110 chips

I think the evidence is when you pick up a paper clip with a magnet you can pick up a large chain of paper clips much further than if you try to pick up the furthest one away without the chain, if you get what I'm saying, going back to when I was a kid when I used to play around with magnets! I...

like I said, we will see! this is my theory!

    help with IR2110 chips

No evidence, just makes sence to me, also when mounting the coils, it's very difficult to move it over a couple of mm to the magnets without it snapping or jumping towards the magnet before the hot glue dries we will see! At the moment, the coils are as close as I could get them and stuck solid...

    help with IR2110 chips

heck I'm just going to stick them! didn't get chance to stick on the rest of the pennies last night, will be doing it today! may need an extra day to dry afterwards!

    help with IR2110 chips

nearly did, a few times!!! debating weather to stick them the other side as well but a layer of one instead of two (on the side I did, I doubled up to pennies) the gap was a bit larger, it's a gamble though because the gap isn't that big, it would definatly be a good result if it paid off and...

    help with IR2110 chips

UPDATE: so glued the pennies to the magnets on the wheel on one side, letting it set and go off overnight!! the magnets were extremely difficult to place, the pennies kept on wanting to go the the middle of the two magnets at a time, took an hour and fingers are all hard fromt the super glue I...
