    Show us pictures of the sender and gauge. Does the sender have only one wire coming from it, or two? The shape of your gas tank will significantly affect the accuracy of the gauge reading.

    The op-amp can't output a voltage higher than its supply voltage. It will generally be somewhat less (though not much less for a so-called 'rail-to-rail' op-amp).

    On a small single-engined plane I imagine air turbulence results in fairly random small variations in yoke pressure? For extra realism in your sim you might want to replicate that effect.

    Could be one or more ICs has been damaged. Without a schematic of the SMPS the chances of a successful repair are slim.

    Welcome to EP! If the diodes are part of a mains power supply then yes, they can; because AC can then reach polarity-sensitive components (e.g. ICs, transistors, electrolytic capacitors) and damage them.

    Sounds as though the key-finder has a standby (sleep state) current which is excessive. If the push-button isn't already a battery-connect/disconnect switch I'd consider simply installing a mechanical switch to disconnect the CR2032 completely until you need to actually use the key-finder.

    Two alkaline AA or AAA cells will give you ~3V. Non-rechargeable, but should give far longer life than a CR2032.

    The thing might be an inductive sensor. The notch in the end of the thing presumably has a purpose: perhaps to accommodate a toothed ferromagnetic disc or rotating magnet for speed sensing?

    I don't see how the thing can have any function unless it has two terminals, the metal ring possibly being one of them. With an Ohmmeter, check for a finite resistance between the metal ring and the relevant pin(s) in the plug at the opposite end of the cable. That might give us a clue. Confirm...
