    It exists,but should not be used !!! Basically it is an amp. that doesn't have feedback (i.e. connection of output to input). without feedback an amp. would have all possible disadvantages in the world. It sounds strange but, Negative feedback is actually very Positive, a bit of an "oxymoron"...

    Not a problem. Ground wires should be same thickness. Preferably a "star ground" scheme as shown. if there are other blocks connected in the system,they should be connected to the star ground.

    Things are not clear yet. Are points C,D connected? Can you please show the grounds of "the parts" in more details.

    Connect a DVM to the input of the SSR. Measure with the DVM the voltage on the input ,in the "off" and "on" state. For off you should have less than 1v for on more than 3V,are you actually getting this?

    What do you mean by "initial diode"? A schematic is needed if you want help. You can draw one yourself,doesn't have to be the original one.

    Welcome to EP. They are called terminal Blocks. Used for connecting wires. The last ones could be ( 3 phase?) circuit barkers or relays. A store selling Electricians gear will have them.

    No problems,actually higher Cap value is better. They use the minimum value and voltage because they yield lower size and cost. Yep, tropical islands paradise ,Hurricane season can be a scary experience though.

    Yes you can use a 470uF, voltage can be higher than 16V as well. But note that your space is very limited and larger value caps as well as voltage may be to big to fit in. BTW, it is strange you couldn't find a 330uF.
