    Just giving you some feedback from a consumers perspective. It seems clunky, like glasses for 3D. Can you imagine all the work to make such a system feasible? Would be better in a group atmosphere, but I am afraid they have already done this. Walt disney beat you to it by about 10 years.

    I don't know of any single IC, but a flip-flop and 4060 would handle the job. Depending on the current needed for the lights a transistor might be applicable on the output of the 4060

    I think NetBSD has the most diversified platform of compatible hardware. http://www.netbsd.org/ports/ edit: you'll also notice that it has a business-friendly license. Which should put your mind at ease.

    This is one of the easiest ways to get a power supply with short circuit protection. You can pull cheap 350W atx power supplies from old computers. A computer repair shop might have one (used pulled from a dead PC) they would sell you for little of nothing.

    Yes, that makes perfect sense and .1 Ohm resistor wouldn't effect the rest of the circuit that much. Thanks for the explaining that, learned something new today.
