    solar powered clock

the easiest way to do this is to hook your solar panel to the batteries using a diode to stop voltage feedback. they will charge the batteries as long as there is sunlight. so no matter what happens your batteries will still recieve some sort of charging from the panels. then run your clock of...

    Twin camera joiner

as you may have seen already in the commecial products, when you split a camera up you usually get 4 screens. this is a ratio issue. you can find items that cost around $200 and do home surveillance that splits the cameras up for you. some of these run of a walwart which down the voltage to...

    Laugh for the Day

A guy in a bar says to the bar tender "quick a shot of your best rum" the bartender serves him. the gent drinks it down, slams the glass down and says "quick another". once again he throws it down and says "quick another" the bartender says mate you're drinking that kinda fast" the gent...

    simple circuit won't work..

picture is fuzzy and I can't tell what your power source is. I can't tell if you have pushed the components all the way in. I can't tell if you have mistaken the breadboard pin layout. better picture and a schematic will be good.

    solar

I know this thread is getting old now but I want all info in one place for me. I got a battery 7.5ah for testing. now I thought I would find a cheap charge controller, the cheapest was about a 20A, but there are a few types, one is PWM dunno what the others are yet as they aren't listed as a...

    CD player read problem

I don't know the indsides of CD players too well but I am assuming there is a switch or something that would detect the CD inside which would initialise the laser.... or the laser itself might do that. would that be an area of concern?

Which way do you read a resistor?

hey guys stupid question, if for example I had a burnt out resistor in a repair job and as stated the red and brown are hard to read, what would be the best way of figuring out the value to replace it? (that is if I can't find the schematic and the PCB had no values)

    what excites you

Just today I got my hands on 2 raspberry pi's. these little suckers have been on my wishlist for 3months. today my arduino experiments open up to a whole new area. I can actually get a completely dedicated arduino setup using the Pi for gui and the harder tasks. with a few modifications I can...

    CD player read problem

wow thats a ingenius idea, never thought of it before. another question is how often do you use a cd cleaner? the laser may have something on it. try not to use home remedy cleaners as most leave a residue and residue = bad laser reads

need help on my solar project

most devices only use the amount of power required. the old saying you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink fits here. this does not apply to all devices (LED's are greedy guts for example) the issue is under powering it. most solar setups I have seen use a battery between the...

    Angle sensors + wireless

coca is right as always, the only thing he hasn't touched on in a little more depth is transmission. you have so many different ways these days each has its own flaws and benefits. the first is infared like in your remote, then you move onto bluetooth, fm, uhf... the list is getting longer and...

    the smartphone

I didn't know if this was feedback or off topic, or just an idea that seems alot of people are overlooking. There seems to be a small movement for projects that are already out there. the best one is people wanting a camera hooked up to both a mobile/cell tower and to wifi...... we have this...

    mini dimmer with photoresistor

having an idea is great. having a prototype is better. having a tested product is awesome. having an idea will allow you to goto people "wouldn't it be nice if they put alarms on radios" this does nothing except start a little chat. having a prototype to show people will show them the...

    mini dimmer with photoresistor

nice Idea, we had this system installed at work a few years ago. it detects light/dark, lowers the voltage, which actually saves on power (although I am still trying to figure out how). anyway, what would you like to know in regards to this design?
