It looks like a Mylar film cap to me, might be wrong. If it is then they are classed as general purpose caps normally for DC and can be made to withstand very high voltages. They can have large losses in AC circuits at high temperatures.

The green one looks like an MLV transient suppressor or a fuse. The second one looks like a resistor array (network) which is more than one resistor in a package.

The MOV is sometimes used on a solenoid to speed up the turning off in comparison to a diode. It does also depend on how large the coil is whether it's beneficial.
