    A fuel injector usually requires a high current pulse to get it to open quickly, followed by a reduction in the current to a holding level to keep the injector open for the required time without overheating its coil. There are dedicated ICs availble which facilitate this, e.g. LM1949, TPIC44L01.

    Well, we don't know what the platform size is or what is to be placed on it. The jack wouldn't have to be the size of a typical car jack :). I agree, strings and pulleys would be an option.

    If you're going to use two motors you might need a toothed belt or other link to synchronise their rotation, to avoid the platform tilting.

    If you have only 3V to control the FET gate then the FET must be a logic level type with a Vgs(thr) well below 3V to ensure the FET turns on fully.

    Agreed, but why deliberately design something to run at higher than rated values (unless, of course, this is to ensure the unit fails just outside the warranty period :) ) ? Perhaps a 22Ω resistor was cheaper than a 75Ω one :).

    :confused: I can see only two MOSFETs. The IRF7351 is an N-channel type, so Q1A is correct. Q1B shows a P-channel type, so it can't be an IRF7351 if indeed it is meant to be a P type.

    I guess that would depend on the characteristics of your octopus circuit. I've never used one. But leakage might occur only when the semi is under normal working voltage/current conditions, which I don't think it would be when testing with an octopus circuit. Tough one. Another possible culprit...
