dahhal thanks for the info, when I say my programming is worse than my electronics I should point out my electronics is close to 0. I have a keen mind to learn and that helps but alot of googling code to tell me what it means happens. I am using win7 and arduino's compiler but I really thought...

    arduino 3 parts

am sorry to keep posting here but trying to get this to work my coding is worse than my electronics knowledge. I have declared the pins, i have declared the pots. I am not trying to figure out how to do 2 things, first read the pot (0-1023 range) and divide that into 3 areas. 0-510 is reverse...

one peice of guidance I will give you that has helped me so much so far, don't just read, get your hands dirty and make stuff. I keep thinking of big bang theory when all the guys were in the car together, and the car broke down. they all knew the way a petrol driven motor worked, but none of...

    Hello everyone :D

I won't lie to you, electronics can be daunting at times. especially if you have never done anything and the stupid soldering iron just won't melt the solder and when the stupid soldering iron does melt it, it hardens on the wrond connection or joins 2 points that are meant to touch..... having...

    invention/adapter

ruxton if you head back quite a few posts on the first page it was pointed out that the socket replacement is as low as 48cents. have you factored in that your idea is both 10 times the price and only a temporary(not permanent) fix so at some point they will have to fork out the 48cents to...

    invention/adapter

ok this is my last post on this topic cos I seriously have said it all. it is a great idea, but will serve no purpose. if for example someone was renovating a house then they could remove the old plug and put in a new plug, there are extension leads, there are batteries, there are hundreds of...

I don't know bout switzerland but here in australia our paramedics have a setup that utilises car battery to provide backup power. this helps to keep things topped up. also add to this that any decent paramedic will take their last patient to hospital and then check their equipment to see what...

    invention/adapter

its cost versus results. in this case as with my example the results do not warrant the cost. having an idea is a great thing. taking criticism both positive and negative is how you make sure you don't spend too much time going down the wrong path.

    invention/adapter

we are not saying DON'T try, we are just stating 2 obvious facts A) unless the product is cheaper then the 48cents to replace the whole socket it won't be viable B) the amount of times this product will need to be used is not high as most houses already have new sockets which last longer than...
