^^^^ In English.. Good contribution, you will not also have the scheme of the input and power pcb since I have one that entered 380v and the fan is scorched, which I think is 24v, two rectifier diodes and two others that I suppose are zener and the voltage regulator.

    Electronics Newbie

Hi Matt, welcome to EP. Starting small and simple is not terrifying and is fun. Spend a little, say £20 or £30 and buy a breadboard starter pack. Plus some 555’s, CD4017’s, assorted capacitors and assorted resistor packs. Some diodes like 1N4148 can be useful too. Obviously LEDs in various...

    It's Been a Long Time.....question

I’m not saying it is static, just possibly. To test it, wrap some tissue around the knob and wrap that with insulating tape. (Keeps sticky residue off knob). And try it for a night or two. Martin

No more Power on piano Shiver KS-51

The DC jack for power obviously has known issues to have a zip tie to secure it. Check the solder joints on the under side for good connection. Does the DC jack disconnect the batteries when inserted? Check those internal connections. Also, with no power on either batteries or adaptor, check...

Car radio gets only static need help troubleshooting

Continuity is not a good way to check a diode. Use ‘diode’ setting or ‘resistance’. Have a look here. https://www.fluke.com/en-gb/learn/blog/digital-multimeters/how-to-test-diodes.

Creative 5.1 SBS 560, no sound

Does the ‘creative’ controller have screws underneath?. You will need to open it to test each wire with your multimeter in continuity mode. Each jack has a T, R ,S. Tip, Ring and Sleeve. Stereo has two Rs, T, R,R,S. Most of these audio cables fail open circuit rather than short circuit. It’s...

Bringing an old Stargate console to life - after cleaning

You can quite easily disconnect each board with the connectors and remove each board for cleaning. I would use a soft (ish) brush to remove cob webs and debris then use IPA (isopropyl) to thoroughly clean the boards. Pay attention to the wires and connectors too. The CRT can also be wiped down...
