    One other little point. The video is in open space without the usual walls, ceilings, routers or metal car. Any device will transmit further under those conditions. A 1km range radio can transmit 10km if the conditions are right. Martin

    The component side looks like it needs more repairs to broken traces. A few have been previously repaired. Use a multimeter in continuity mode and check the traces that immediately stand out.     Try using a heavier gauge wire if 4 meters work and 6 meters doesn’t. You say ‘two way’. Do you mean two core wire? Which is 4 meters? So a round trip is 8 meters through the switch? Martin

    Small motor with 104 cap bridge between terminals.

    I checked some of my 1k + Scalextric car motors. All have 103 or 104 ceramics. All 12V DC. Removing the cap does nothing except interfere with radio reception. Martin

    From your pictures, I can see corrosion on the switch. I would start with cleaning the switches and potentiometers ( volume etc) with a switch/contact cleaner. Squirt the cleaner in the switches and then vigorously move them. Same for the pot (vol). repeat a couple of times and all should be...
