    Cheap linear actuators

So where do you store your linear actuators? ;) Here's a photo of the gap under the cabinets as of this morning - it'll be a couple of weeks before parts arrive, but I'll take a video of it in action and some assembly photos once I get started.

    Forum Category Feedback

Yep, things seem to be going ok so far - I'm glad that the adjustment seems to have been relatively painless :). I'm happy to tweak the forum names and I was just about to click the "save" button on the name update, but I had a quick look and can primarily only find video related threads for...

    Cheap linear actuators

Yep, there's a ~30cm void where the kitchen cupboards meet the corner of the room - I think I could fit a bottle of Lagavulin in there :D Thank you, that is very kind - I just wouldn't want to waste good components like that on a novelty project... but I'll keep this in mind if I do decide to...

I suppose I could make it secret whisky storage :D.

    Cheap linear actuators

The funny thing is I'm not even sure what I want too use the concealed lift for yet... we've got a void behind a tall cupboard in the kitchen and I've recently started using home automation software and ESP8266's to automate a lot of things in there (lighting, music, power, temp, etc...). As...

    Cheap linear actuators

Good point, I'll stick to one and use some guide rods to keep it simple :).

    Cheap linear actuators

That's an interesting mechanism and that idea may be useful for another project I've got in mind - but unfortunately the platform is dropping from a hidden void in a cupboard, so it can't have anything underneath it. I've gone for the 100mm motors (which will no doubt take a while to arrive from...

    Cheap linear actuators

That's extremely kind of you @kellys_eye - however that motor and gearbox look far too nice for a little tinkering project like the one I'm dabbling with, so I'll pass on your generous offer so that you can put them to better use (like pulling walls down ;)). I'll pick up a couple of these...

    Cheap linear actuators

I'm interested in integrating a hidden "drop down" compartment as part of a home automation project, i.e. using linear actuators to drop a platform of around 0.5kg by 100mm. It's only a gimmicky project that I don't want to spend much building, so purchasing a standard linear actuator seems...

    Subscript / Superscript in Editor

I've added some manual CSS overrides to the subscript code, does that look better now? You may need to hit CTRL+F5 to force refresh the CSS cache, so that the page re-renders correctly.

    Subscript / Superscript in Editor

I'll see if there's something I can do to tweak subscript, as I agree it doesn't look too obvious - I'll have a play around and see what I can do :). Testing: H2O H2O New line Super

    Subscript / Superscript in Editor

After a suggestion from @hevans1944 in this post, I've added subscript/superscript tag buttons to the WYSIWYG editor. I remember trying to do this a few years ago, but ran in to problems - however it looks like a more recent forum upgrade has enabled us to now add this feature. I've got a few...

    Entering square bracket in text

Ah, on phones it's harder to predict how things will work - is that using the Chrome browser on your phone, or something different? I've got an Android 7.1 phone I can test it against.
