Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

O.K the solder diameter is too large for this job. This is why you can't get the proper profile and you have too much solder. you should use smaller diameter 0.6mm would be fine. Get your solder from a good firm like kester (worth every penny ,no cheap Chinese stuff it is mostly rubbish and the...

The soldering looks much better.:) It looks clean and seems shiny. But still too much solder used. You should get the "mount Fuji silhouette" Using liquid soldering flux helps a lot if the PCB isn't clean. What is the diameter of the solder you use? How did you clean the soldering?

    How to Solder properly

Soldering, still a vital skill for all of us with "hands-on" attitude to electronics. Unfortunately skills are lacking especially with beginners. The PCAE videos on soldering is an old great and very thorough way to learn properly the art of soldering, watch them all, learn, and enjoy. And...

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

It is a series of videos ,take your time watch them and learn, they are very good professional ones. The pump suckers may suck the solder with the Pad. I have seen that many times ,especially if the PCB quality isn't very good. If you know how to use the wick it is safer an cleaner. What did...

What kind of signal is it? Is the trigger level about 19V? No, averaging is a distortion of reality. Can you use a "single time Acquisition" What is the ground clip of the scope probe connected to?

Jona, Please see the videos. Only then we can discuss what is wrong...;) For now ,I'll just say that you should have used a "solid single wire" for bridging.

That is a good solder iron. Please show the solder wire. Don't use the sucker,it makes more damage than good, instead use a solder wick 0.1" or so. Please watch the video above and learn how to solder, then practice on some junk board( desoldering and soldering). when you think you can do a...

Cozzia, that's a start. You can contact them an inquire about a service manual. A bit difficult without the model number but a photo of the chair and remote may do the trick here

Hi Jona Welcome back. Nice looking chair. and a jungle of wires underneath. Is there a manufacture name and product model? In you first post you say you fixed 2 other chairs. Do you still have them? They can be used as a precious reference to a working unit, that can make life a lot simpler...

    transistor pairing? or not?

No,the gate resistors don't adjust gain. Their purpose is totally different: Maintain the Amp stability(prevent oscillations of the Amp.) Look at section 7.1 I'm wondering, are you actually going to build the AMP? To be able to build a ultra-HiFi High Power AMP needs a lot of Knowledge and...

    A hard to resist problem

Agree, the smaller ones look like 1/4W. You can actually check the wattage by a simple worm up test: Use a PS to create 1/4W on the resistors. a 1/2w one will not get warm while a 1/4w will.

Drive two relays based on input voltage.

Yep, here is a fail safe relay connection for this application. In no case can the 2 solenoids/motors be activated at the same time. If such a "command is erroneously issued " both will be disconnected .

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

Jona, Don't ever think about "taking off every component on this board cleaning it up and re-soldering it". That is not the way to fix stuff...probably the safest way to turn this unit into junk. "I was going in to take out all the diodes with my soldering tool to test them and there was a...
