    Copper Wire as simple BusBar

You need to know the length of the wire. And the exact measurements of your construction. Better post a photo.

    Store on hard drive

From the question,I have the feeling that you are not a programmer ;). If I'm correct, all the above advise won't help you . The answer is a simple no you can't ,use a PC.

    DVD player wont play

When those "El-Chipo" devices malfunction and you have tried all the above things , There is another thing to check: There are cables running from the board to the lens and motor mechanism. Check that they are connected well. If that doesn't help it is time to buy another one... my advice ,go...

Reducing Voltage to Reduce Current - is it a proportional reduction?

Let's start with the simple question: Are you talking about a PC cooling fan?(32A or 0.32A). What you call "7-volting" is merely using the diffrence between the +12V and +5V power supply voltages found in a PC . Will it work? When you measure the voltage difference between the pins of the...

    Aqualisa Lumi 10.5kw no power

Is the other unit you replaced the fault one with working fine? I assume the coils are part of the RFI filter. Probably some sort of inrush current to the control board caused the damage. Did you check the board with the coils bypassed(shorted) ? Look at the pic, 1.What is the area the blue...

    3 JK FF in Counter Circuit - Count Sequence = 3, 1, 2, 6, 4

    1. You have "3 invalid counts" (yellow in the pic below). You should prevent them. two approaches can be taken: a)Reset the counter by async Pr/Clr, on power up, to a valid count value. b) Jump the counter to any valid count in the state diagram from those un-valid states. I assumed a) is the...

    Video Switcher

"More information on this (largely obsolete) NTSC standard" In the UK they use(d) the PAL system. Obviously, a lot more info is needed to help the OD.

    Aqualisa Lumi 10.5kw no power

So, that is a 46A device, does it have it's own dedicated high current power feed? or have you used an existing feed? I understand the coil is on the feed to the control board and not the heater, but they are related. What voltage is connected to the coil? Another thing, I think it may be very...

    Aqualisa Lumi 10.5kw no power

That is hard to know, have you got schematics of this device? I don't know what kind of mains voltage you have, assuming 220V and a 10.5KW heater, It would need a 3 phase connection. The on/off switching of such a load may cause big inrush current and voltage surge/drop. If the house wiring...

Repairing Lincoln Plasma Cutter inverter board...

Try here. It is either you get an original transformer or if possible try to re-solder the broken end . Can you please post a photo so we can evaluate the soldering option?

    Aqualisa Lumi 10.5kw no power

Is it is an inductor ,and a very strange one here : value=12000uH=12mH R(DC)=30 ohm IDCmax=110mA ,that is very low indeed.

    oscillator help

Eric, "what skills exactly are RF skills?" In short, something you acquire with " Blood, sweat and tears" over a long period of time. I don't intend to discourage you,but you should know what you are facing. If you have a "digital background", there would be a long way for you to...

Help!!Elenco XK 300 micro controller system

Well, that is quit simple: Grandpa/ma that is a great gift I'm grateful,:) but did you now it only has...hold tight, 128 bytes(!-no mistake) of RAM ? o_O

    Raspberry Pi and DS1820 challenge

Nothing to be ashamed off,we all started at the zero point sometimes...;) The connection look o.k. Make sure there are no "short circuits" between the naked wires. Use the DMM to test dc voltage at the DS1820 pins as shown. What are you getting?

    oscillator help

This is a C.B Colpittz oscillator, here you have what you need to calculate the values. But, that is the least of your worries... For it to work ,you do need RF skills and equipment, Have you got any?

    question about reading voltage

mrel, How do you know what should the voltage be?have you got a service manual? In general it is a bad thing not to have the correct voltage with such a big difference, but one must be specific to the circuit.

    Raspberry Pi and DS1820 challenge

1.The resistor is 4700 ohm not 4.7 ohm (that alone could cause the problem). 2.Can you please post a photo of your circuit? 3.As for using a DMM look here(from 2:10 on). 4.The board you linked to shows +5V ,GND . Connect the DMM probes and verify that you get a)About DCV of 5 volts (pins...

    Supercapacitor safety

The supercaps are very dangerous !even at very low voltages(2.5V) The high capacity and extremely low ESR allows for huge currents in short condition. Never short them! You probably missed that tread ,make sure you see the video in reply #8 ...scary:eek:
