    Avionic Display Systems

Welcome to the forums! There's a good book by Ian Moir and Allan Seabridge on Avionics display systems - I've got the "Civil Avionics Systems" book, but I think they also have a more general one too. If you can get a hold of that from your library, that would be a good start. The...

    3D Printer

Looking good so far guys (and thanks for posting the videos!). I've build a basic CNC for routing many years ago, so I think I may follow your advice and give a homebrew 3d printer machine a go next year - as it would be a fun project. Open source projects seem to be developing pretty quick, so...

    3D Printer

I'd love to see what you do with your 3D printer! I was looking at them just yesterday as I really want one, but don't know if I can justify the cost... but I am tempted :D. There are some Makerbot Replicator 2 clones out there that look like very good value. What are your thoughts on it so far?

    Downtime

Sorry for the downtime for the past few hours - I've been trying to get the site back online for the past hour or so, and have only just been able to fix the problem. I'm looking in to it now to see why it has happened - as this is the first time in years something on this scale has cropped...

    To the ADMIN(s)

Thanks for the heads up - I guess it may have been an accidental double click, but as the first post went through there was no loss of data. I could reduce the double-post timeout to zero, but it does a good job of keeping any spammers at bay that get though the filters.

A Special Place In Hell For Yahoo

Although you have to pay for POP3 access, the IMAP page doesn't seem to mention that you require Yahoo Plus :D. Try giving these IMAP settings a go in OE and see if that works - hopefully you'll be in luck :)...

    Sky box to DVR?

It would be a comparatively HUGE task to convert a Sky box over to a DRV - however you can pick up a DVR kit quite cheaply nowadays and it will come with things like remote access and the software required. About the only thing that the sky box has that would be useful is the Hard Drive and...

    Sony hcd-sa30 very hot

Sometimes that can happen if the amp overheats (for protection). Have you got the amp in a confined space and is ventilation adequate? Check that airflow is ok and that there's no dust clogging vent ports. Does the amp remain powered/cool if you disconnect all the speakers?
