    For higher voltage packs I would agree. Anything larger than 24 Volts it would be best to balance or increase cut off voltage level. But two cells are going to be within 2.5% of each other as far as capacity goes. Making sure the batteries are from the same batch and manufacture is paramount. Or...

    Run what at a lower voltage? If you mean the load then yes it should help because the load should draw less current. Adam

    Exactly, I was just going so mention that. You may need to add some large capacitors to support the supply rail. Do you have any? Another option would be to use a logic level MOSFET. Adam

    What do you mean around the charge? -1.5 Volts? you don't have a negative supply, how are you getting this? Where are you measuring? With a suitable heat sink the current transistor can provide 800 mA with the correct base current. Adam
