    I'd be less interested in the blown resistor, than what else in the circuit caused it to blow in the first place. If you don't trace the circuit and find the problem, you're going to blow every resistor you put in there.

    What type of package is it in? It could be a 2SD549. But I've seen some thyristors (in TO-220 type packages) with 'D' prefixes.

    Wavetek Model 178 50MHZ Programmable Waveform Sysnthesizer. Made in the early 1980's. The A-400's are in the preamp, and the A-440's in the amp section. Problem is they're complementary, so I'm trying to match them as closely as possible. Just having terrible luck finding the original devices.
