SEG Set top box turns itself on and off

If the fault is anything more than a power supply issue or dodgy electrolytics then you'll need at least a 'scope and (possibly) the schematic to delve any closer to the fault - as mentioned, changing parts out indiscriminately is a pointless and fruitless task that will probably lead to more...

How can I test a xlr charging port

Can you post pictures of the internals of the charger? There may be something there that 'experienced eyes' can spot in respect to the zero output.

    Capacitive Force Sensor Circuit Project

Sample and hold with peak detector. Both possible using op-amps.

How can I test a xlr charging port

Despite there being no 'visible' fuse on the outside of the charger unit there may be one INSIDE it that requires you to dismantle the charger to access. The fact that the charger output is 'zero' is peculiar and indicative of a potential internal fault. You don't have a lot to lose by opening...

SEG Set top box turns itself on and off

Careful - the circuit board uses plated through-holes and damaging the pads may interrupt the circuit from top side to bottom. That's not an electrolytic type.... changing parts 'randomly' won't get you any where. You'll most likely cause damage (as per your damaged pads) by 'messing around'.

SEG Set top box turns itself on and off

Measuring components in-circuit can produce all sorts of readings. For many, unless you have the schematic and can take adjacent parts into account, you have to lift one end to get a proper result. Small inductors WILL measure 0Ω on most meters - you need a high quality meter to read...

What's the best way to learn any programming

As above... the "Learn 'X' in 24-hours" series of books are always a good place to start.

    Electronics for prop control

Your actions were those of a gentleman and scholar Hop. The actions of your prospective clients to take advantage without recompense shows them to be quite the opposite.

Old 1996 issues of Electrical Design News or Electronic Design

What Samsung product would that be? Given the nature of advertising I doubt they were the only publications the advert was in and I have access to many magazines of that era.

Lead acid battery - how long can it be left discharged?

Nothing worth worrying over imho. Leaving a battery discharged for 10 hours isn't a 'killer' situation and likely even difficult to discern without specialist equipment - assuming it is DISCONNECTED from the load when discharged. Leaving it connected is a definite no-no.

Lead acid battery - how long can it be left discharged?

Discharge even a deep cycle battery past 75% is dodgy as far as life span is concerned.

    Three Tank Control System

Move the control signal from the valve that works to a valve that doesn't (or swap the valves). If swapping the valve/signal makes the 'other' device work the the valves are ok and your signal must be lost/degraded somewhere.

Please I need help, does anyone knows what's this?

Snip the capacitor lead and see if you still get the same smell occurring. If you do then resolder the capacitor and take it for granted that it's ok.

Lead acid battery - how long can it be left discharged?

Lead acid batteries are like muscles - they need exercise to be kept in top condition. Chemical depositions build on the plates over time (unused) but they can be recovered by various methods. Simplest way to maintain them is to use them. Otherwise why own them?

How can I test a xlr charging port

Which fuse and where? If the charger output is (effectively) 0V the charger is faulty. Since you have two faulty chargers this is either very bad co-incidence (unlikely) cr@p product (possible) or something you did wrongly when first using them (probable). Either way, can you open one of the...

Need electronic help with a custom transmission shifter

I agree with Harald (above). Limit your design to changing the appearance of the commercial product - some wacky-looking, flashy-light/digital display mods etc - as trying to attempt the whole procedure is far too complicated/expensive.

    Tone for thought..

Pointless. For the tests you want/need to make the test signal has to be variable in frequency. The scope calibration output is fixed.

    Three Tank Control System

Is the water tank 'closed' i.e. is it creating a vacuum when discharging? Bit like holding a full bottle of water upside down...... drill a hole in the bottle and the water flows again.

Get your tin foil hats out....

Yeah, the 6502 suggestion was tongue-in-cheek but are we to understand that every device ever made will have some form of back door to nefarious peekers?
