    Volts and Amps for beginners

If you come across any posts or make one that you think would be a helpful introduction, I can make them "stickies" (they stay at the top of the forum) or articles that we can direct people to. :)

    Server Move

JPG limits are now increased to 150k, so that should be within the range of most image files. I've also changed the way the server works (using FastCGI + WinCache), so that it should be more stable and faster (a good combination :D).

    Server Move

I'll see if I can bump the JPG limit a little - but for things like PDF files it would be better to zip them where possible :)

    Server Move

The server move is now complete :D Phew, that didn't take long!

    Server Move

I'll have a look at what I can do :). What file size and type do you need to attach?

    Server Move

If all goes to plan, this site will be moving servers in a couple of days time. The new host will come with plenty of extra space and greatly improved hardware, so hopefully the site speed will increase too! There will be around 15 mins of downtime while the move is in progress, but I will try...

My PS3 to Home theatre system questions

Any chance you can take a photo of the back of the receiver and TV so I can see the connections? You might be able to connect it differently depending on the layout. :)

My PS3 to Home theatre system questions

How many HDMI inputs do you have on the receiver? As far as I'm aware, you can go straight from the PS3 > Home Theater > TV using HDMI cables? Having 1 HDMI output would be the one that goes to your TV. Otherwise, you can use an optical audio cable to the Home Theater.

    Your experience with Electronics?

I thought it might be interesting to share our levels of experience with other forum readers, as it seems that we have a few very talented members on the forum. :) My own electronics experience is quite low at a design/programming level, as I only dabble in small projects from time to time...

    Playstation3 TV cable

You broke your PS3 into 2 halves or the cable? Assuming it's the latter, then yes it is possible, but I really wouldn't recommend it. I found this HDMI cable (does the image look like the one you broke?), and it's £1.77 delivered. That will do a much better job than soldering it...

    Playstation3 TV cable

Without seeing or testing the cable there is no way to assess the damage, however if you did try to repair it by solding any damaged connections then you'd probably end up with below-par image quality. HMDI cables (which is what I guess you mean?) are pretty cheap now, around £5 in the UK :)
