    Hayes Smartmodem 1200 and DL900

I'm not all that skilled in computers, do you need a driver for the smartmodem set-up? Just something to check.

    Hayes Smartmodem 1200 and DL900

Hayes Microcomp went out of business years ago. I can't help you with the 1200, but I've got some info that might be helpful. I just repaired a couple Hayes Microcomp chronographs, I was able to find manuals for them Googleing on-line. Did you try Googleing for information on your...

    RCA 832 81803

Nothing in the RCA Replacement Guide I've got. Like you, I tried to cross it with other manufacturer manuals I have, no luck. RCA was doing a line of components for industrial use that they didn't make much money off of, so they went to the 'SK' line in an attempt to make more money in consumer...

Taser display sign Serial number 0911000118

Somebody might have wired around the switch if it was already broken. If it's just the switch, like *steve* said, you just need to replace it. If somebody wired around the switch, install a replacement switch. There should be somebody, if you ask around there, who should be able to help you with...

    Fluke 6061A Error Code

You'll find it. If your oscillator is ok, just follow it's output until you lose it, that'll be the problem. Who knows, when you've got output, your error code may just go away.

    RCA 832 81803

p.s. I have a LOT of RCA transistors that have 5 digit numbers on them, and it takes a lot of work to cross them to equivalents because they were just short-production runs of actual RCA part numbers that nobody bothers with anymore. I'm just telling you this because it's POSSIBLE your IC...

    RCA 832 81803

I usually try to find out how old the oven is, and the manufacturer. It's possible your IC is a proprietary one, but RCA made several runs of IC's and transistors that turned-out to not be very popular, and they dropped the manufacturing lines for them. Do you have or can you get a schematic...

    Fluke 6061A Error Code

It IS a little difficult to to frequency lock on a frequency that isn't there. You've got the manual, you need repair. Start with your oscillator and work your way through the output amps.

    Help with instrumentation amplifier set-up

Burr Brown's mfgr facility was in Tucson, AZ (where I am), they got bought out by Texas Instruments. When they did that, they brought in a lot of TI people, and a lot of guys I know who used to work for Burr Brown were out a job. Burr Brown made some of the best instrumentation op amps around...

    buss fuses

The fuses are designed for the operating voltage. Apparently they're not always used that way. A 250v fuse works at 32V just fine, a 32V fuse isn't designed for use at 250V. Check the manufacturer's website.

    Fluke 6061A Error Code

You already know what the problem is. The synthesizer test checks to see if you've got a normal operating freq and will freq lock, then the program inside sets a freq above and below your op freq to make sure the instrument unlocks. Either your base freq needs adjustment, or the freq locking...

    Testing resistor

If you've checked your fuse, I'm with Harald, you've probably got a break in your blanket heating elements, or the wires connecting to them.

    Fluke 6061A Error Code

Sorry, have a manual for a 6060B and a 6062A, you're going to need the manual for your instrument. The 6062A Error Codes are 4 each, 3-character groups, indicating problems with one of the following areas: AM & FM Tests, Synthesizer Tests, Digital Tests, or Filter Tests. Problem may or may...

    Test Equipment Importance

I just bought the gear as I found I needed it over time. You may start with equipment you think you'll need, but you WILL learn over time what you know you'll need. Along with the o'scope GonzoEngineer recommended. I'd recommend a GOOD Quality Digital Multimeter. Fluke has been turning out a...

Why there is many different size of capasitors

The size of capacitors are continually becoming physically smaller as the dielectrics improve in them. Your question is probably in reference to different manufacturers capacitors. There are applications where a manufacturer needs a short, fat capacitor to fit in the chassis properly, or a...
