    Welcome to EP! Google should have the answer, but first you need to decide what is a 'standard' red LED. Different manufacturers have different ideas! LEDs even from the same batch will have different, current-dependent luminosities.

    If the solenoid has to pull in over a 5cm distance it will need to be pretty powerful. That implies a plunger of considerable weight/inertia; so the movement may not be fast enough for your application.

    111W for 3 hrs = 333Wh. A 100% efficient inverter powered from 12VDC would therefore need a capacity of 333/12 = 27.75Ah. Allowing for inefficiencies you'd need around 40Ah @12V (or 80Ah @ 6V). Hence the car battery, or equivalent.

    The temperature the IC reaches will depend on input current, how well it is heatsinked, and ambient temperature. Can you post a link to the datasheet?

    There are 7 relays in the first pic. If one switches the heater, it may have welded-closed contacts or its coil may have gone open-circuit. If you disconnect the heater from the relay you could try doing a continuity check on the relay.

    I agree that a 1uF cap substitution would probably be the only circuit change needed. But it MUST be an X2 type rated for at least 150VAC

    The temperature sensing and display is clearly working, so the fault lies in the control circuitry which should regulate the heater power.

    Perhaps you have a fault in the socket. Inserting the bulb may be causing a short-circuit across the socket.

    Yes, if you don't want to fry the transformer. If it's difficult to source a 24V 3A tranny you might find it easier/cheaper to use a 24VAC 1.5A (preferably 2A) one, plus an off-the-shelf 24V DC 1.2A (preferably 2A) power supply.
