    Help with potentiometer.

Not sure what the fourth pin is for. It might be bass boost or something like that. Make sure the POT is a log type also. I would have thought you could find a replacment. Got any pics? Adam

Low voltage, high current boost converter IC

Wow your asking a lot. 10 Amps from a step up from worst case 3 Volts. Could you have two batteries in series, does it have to be 1 battery. Adam

A relay which causes rf interferences?

No I was joking, you have to carefull with high voltages. Basically it the voltage that jumps the gap and energy that make the crack sound you hear. Adam

A relay which causes rf interferences?

To get a nice spark you need high voltage say 16KV and say 100pF of capacitance and disharge this to a very low resistance like ground. This and the energy in the capacitor gives a nice spark. Adam

A relay which causes rf interferences?

Oh thats a shame, dont you have any friends you dont like. :) its only the voltage that causes the spark. Current will depend on the charge stored in the circuit. Because charge and time is current. Adam

A relay which causes rf interferences?

It's the spark created between the contact that causes the interference. It like having a motor without any suppresion capacitors. Adam

Complete temp. detecting circuit-Need help tuning to desired range

You mean Thermocouple. It another form of temperature measuring device. They can be more accurate and have a much larger temperature range. They work by producing a very small voltage difference between two different metals joined at a hot junction (Seebeck Effect). The circuitry needed is...

Complete temp. detecting circuit-Need help tuning to desired range

Hello The POT VR1 is used to calibrate the sensor. At 25 deg C the breakdown voltage of the Zener is approx. 3V (2.98 V actually). VR3 is used to adjust out the offset of the OP-amp this is usually used to trim for a zero output when both inputs are the same. The trip point is controlled by...

What is your favourite type of component?

Op-amp. Do a lot of things with an op-amp. 555 timer, makes a nice looking door stop when 1000 of them are set in clear epoxy resin. :) Adam
