How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

What drives current if its not voltage. Please define what voltage is. Please again answer my questions. I will post my findings this weekend regardless. Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

    Yes F = q.E F = d(mv)/dt Adam

    Test bench power supply

If you can find one with a larger current rating that will be fine. Is this the problem your having. Adam

    Test bench power supply

Hello, I can't see the image, just a box with a cross in it? Thanks Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Hi Claude Can you answer my questions please. Post #123 and #124 Cheers Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Yes Lvw of course it did :) I was so confident, I didn't even current limit the power supply. Maybe I was just lucky ;) Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

BC109 on bench with two power supplies. One set to 6 Volts one variable for base voltage. Base with 5M resistor and collector drawing 1.00 mA Vbe reading of 0.627 Volts power supply reading14.27 Volts. No base resistor Vbe reading for 1 mA was 0.630 Volts. The small error I put down to my hand...

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Hello Claude. Can you please answer these questions. Just Yes or No will be fine. 1) Do you believe that an ideal voltage controlled current source exist in a simulation program. 2) Do you also believe that this ideal model can in no way be effected or controlled to produce a different...

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Please explain why this same anomaly can be see by using a behavioural voltage controlled current source with the same components used in your amplifier. Then please explain why the same anomaly is happening as in your original simulation. There is no current controlling factor what so ever. Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

I am still waiting for Claude to explain why this anomaly is actually happening. Please excuse me if I have missed it in the 100 or so posts. And I hope he can explain why a similar simulation using only a voltage controlled current source with BJT parasitic and associated components as in his...

Complete temp. detecting circuit-Need help tuning to desired range

This will sort of work but if the temperature hovers about the turn on voltage of the transistor it will not switch fully and the LED might start off dim and then suddenly go bright as the temperature increases. The same when turning off or cooling down. If the temperature rises quickly and then...

    help with IR LED?

The peak irradiance is directly linked to the current supplied to the LED so if the peak current is 70 mA then the receiver will see an irradiance of what ever mW/sr the LED produces at that current with the distance, surface area of the detector and the receiving angle of the detector...

    help with IR LED?

It's because the LED is only on for approx. 1/2 the cycle time. This is how light dimming works for LEDs using PWM. Over a certain period of time between pulses if you increase the on time of the LED it will appear brighter. Think about it like this, the longer the on time the closer it is to...

Help with a PCB diagram Gerber file

To make chages to the design you have to use a design package. You can do minor changes in a gerber program. But it is better to choose a design package like, mentor graphics as an example. Adam

Help with a PCB diagram Gerber file

You can download a free Gerber viewer and have a look yourself. You still haven't answered the question of what package you would like this drawn in. If you are not interested in modifying the design then it's pointless as you could already have the Gerber data, so you can still make more PCBs...

Help with a PCB diagram Gerber file

No I would need some kind of Gerber file. It's too risky trying to do it from photographs. You will also need to decide what EDA package you want it drawn in, so you can modify the design if you need to. So you will have to purchase a licence file also. Adam
