Solar charging module for LiFePO4 batteries

I'm working on a remote monitoring system myself and plan to use the 18650's to power it along with solar recharging and control via the following module...

    Led

If the display board is multiplexed and only one digit isn't working (completely off) then check the digit driver circuitry (either discreet transistors or an IC array of them, potentially the driver signal line from the controller). If just a couple of segments are dud then yes, it will be the...

What is this device inside our well pump controller box?

    1. the pencil was used bodily across non-conductive surfaces 2. the contactor is still available therefore isn't 'unsafe' for any in-spec situations or wouldn't be allowed for sale 3. it's 240V and 1.5" between contacts - arcing???? ....it's not 'kV @ 10's of amps' 4. if they weren't supposed to...

I have an indoor plant ecosystem "light and fan" controller board that stopped working.

There are likely to be at least two or three power supply voltages - a 5V supply for the logic circuits (which appears to be ok) and 12V (likely) to power the fans and 48V for the lights. We can assume the 5V is OK as all the board (logic) LEDs are lit. You should measure the 12V and 48V...

Two separate 28VDC power sources powering 2 different diodes on same bar and ground return

Source A is a battery of 28V ??? Seems like this is a simple case of AC supply (with 28V DC output) plus a battery (backup) supply of 28V both feeding one system. If the AC derived 28V is slightly higher than the battery 28V (by a factor of 0.6V or more) then the AC source 28V will power the...

Measure the height of the digit (not the whole package, just the segmented part). http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/96548/ETC/TOS5161.html The data sheet linked to above could well be the one. It's quite common to replace such digits with 'whatever is available' as there are...

What Are These Parts Called- Where Can I Get Them?

"Barrier" terminal rails to be precise - noted for their specific isolation 'barrier' between terminal screws. http://www.molex.com/molex/products/group?key=terminal_blocks_and_barrier_strips&channel=products

Power led with constant current power supply

Running them in excess of the stated ratings will reduce their life span - very rapidly. Of course, running them UNDER the recommended rating will increase their lifespan! If full brilliance isn't your 'thing' then running them at half power will be fine.

Power led with constant current power supply

Providing the voltage is high enough to drive the LED(s) then all you need is do is chose the correct current. If you have a 600mA COB you need a 600mA CC device - a single white LED runs at around 3.6V so a 36V driver can run 10 of them. Or 1, or 2 ..... etc.... but no more than 10. If you...

    Magnetek 6415 connections

Although they say the wires go to +battery the PROPER way to do this is via a fuse - as it appears to be wired. The same applies for the input as it does for the output - fuses all the way....... Ever heard of the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it' !!!! :D

Two separate 28VDC power sources powering 2 different diodes on same bar and ground return

.... all of it??? It sounds as if the two 28V supplies are used in parallel as backup (if one fails, the other keeps the supply going - the diodes acting as a simple 'or' gate and preventing one supply feeding back into the other). Can you provide a schematic of what you're describing or at...

Solar charging module for LiFePO4 batteries

Why? Apart from the 'exotic' ness of such, what advantages does it offer over the ubiquitous 18650? which has a plethora of charging solutions. Have you forgotten the KISS principal or is there a particular reason for the LiFePO4 route?

Possibly - it will affect the signal loading and may change the volume but generally you won't really notice a huge difference.

Connecting ZNR Surge absorbers to protect E27 LED bulb

Do you actually HAVE a live/neutral in the light switch? Normally there is just a live and switched-live. If you wanted to fit such a device you'd have to do it at the ceiling fitting. But the data sheet has all the info you need to make the right selection - it even has a column for...

What is this device inside our well pump controller box?

Not true - most contactors have a manual operating button for testing purposes and the contacts are fully shrouded. But yes, it is a contactor - basically a large relay. Are there any markings on it? I see a label but can't make out the details.

    Data Encoder(Alps)

Yes, there is a retaining clip at the base of the shaft but, once removed, the shaft comes free and can be changed.

1.5 and 2.5 BILLION I think you mean...... I believe the worlds capacity for food production and population numbers has been vastly understated - seem to recall some recent debates about this although I can't find the specific link. Nature seems to have its own way of making adjustments though....

What does your workshop / workbench look like?

My next iteration of workshop needs more 'wall' - those cabinets are indispensible and make storage such a breeze but I don't have enough to cover all the parts I currently keep. I've got boxes and boxes of stuff under all the benches and am sick of scrabbling through them for bits! I wonder...
