    Wanted: fluke 9010A pods - any of these z80, 6809, 6502, 68000, 8085 ?

The 9010A "micro-system troubleshooter" is a device that allows you to test boards containing microprocessors. The pods contain the microprocessor, RAM, ROM, measurement, and protection circuitry which can be plugged in to test the board. A very large number of different pods were developed...

Blown multimeter fuse again - Doh!

Nonsense! I'm not that fast :-)

Blown multimeter fuse again - Doh!

Now I know you're being sarcastic. There are so many mistakes waiting to be made that I just can't afford to waste time making the same ones twice.

High purity Germanium detector design related clarifications

If it is acrylic, find someone with a laser cutter to produce them very cheaply. If cut with a laser cutter you won't have edge imperfections that could lead to stress fractures starting. Acrylic can also be annealed, but at liquid nitrogen temperatures I'm not sure it would make any difference.

    Modifying an antique camera

Well let's hope something happens in this thread now :-). I did look back in amusement when someone tried to school me in how stops work :-D. I must have been feeling very "chill" that day.

    3D Printer Thread

At my local hackerspace we have three 3D printers two of them are packed away because the space could better be used for something else. The third is a da Vinci 3D printer of some sort. We've just been offered two other printers which we're apparently taking. I'm not a great 3D printer user...

Blown multimeter fuse again - Doh!

I guess I'm pretty anal when it comes to my meters. I tend to store them without the leads plugged in, have several that complain if the leads are in the wrong jacks (or have shutters). But mostly, after replacing a couple of HRC fuses I've decided I have better things to do with my money and...

    Modifying an antique camera

What is this book-face of which you speak? Just to let you know that advertising like that as your first post could be deleted or even get you banned, but I think that this topic is so incredibly niche that I'll let it stand.

Getting Signal Voltage From Source Power

No it's just a reference point. The expenditure of power, no matter how small, can cause heating.

Circuit Element for variable current control

And your response is also common. "I'm an expert in field A, so I must be trusted to understand the electrical/electronic requirements of some device needed/used in this domain. I will be intentionally vague and it's your fault if you can't be specific. My idea is so special and secret that...

Blown multimeter fuse again - Doh!

Start on a higher range than you think you'll need (start on 10A) and move to the lower range if the current is small enough Don't try to measure the current across voltage sources (batteries, capacitors, power supplies, mains, etc). Blowing a multimeter fuse is often an indication you've done...

What is your load, and what are the two power supplies? Please be as detailed as possible.

Circuit Element for variable current control

I am constantly amazed that beginners think they have stumbled onto an idea so special that they can't talk about it, that nobody else has ever thought of, all the while having an apparent lack of understanding of the most basic concepts. You need to realise that you can only trust that any...

    7809 not outputting 9v

I think @Bluejets assumes that if the negative lead is blue, that the other blue lead is also negative. It's wise to use a red wire for positive and a black one for negative. You are missing the input and output capacitors too. Is this the first way you've wired it up? 12V is high enough to...
