    TEKTRONIX 2465 fault

New one on me. Test 04 is for the EAROM, you can have errors: X1 (Parity error on read (bit 0 set) X8 (Bad read after write (bit 3 set) or 1X (Bad checksum (bit 4 set) I've never seen a 11 Error on the Test 04. Have no idea how to analyze it. Try emailing Tektronix, and ask them. Good Luck

Fisher VCR model FVH-721 No Power

Agree with Tesla. You may have knocked the tape transport out of alignment (that feeds tape into machine), tripping a microswitch that makes the machine think it's done, and should power down. Or knocked a connector loose somewhere inside when you were changing the belt,... something simple or...

HP8116A can not regulation output voltage

Try: www.eserviceinfo.com or www.scribd.com (/doc/20229258/hp8116a-service) There are a lot of them out there, good luck.

    Battery connection noise

There are a lot of possible 'what if' potential problems here. I'd check your grounding between the sound gear and pedals, should they share the same ground or not? Cheap fixes I'd try next are a capacitor to try to reduce the hiss, maybe a varistor. My guess is, somebody would have to look...

    Power Supply Diode Id

It's a 1N4004. They're cheap, and you can get one easily. Almost any electronics store would carry them.

    Lamp tolerances

I can't say for certain, but will speculate. First, almost nobody calibrates their voltmeters, so it may be inaccurate if it's old. If you're reading the transformer voltage with no load (no bulb), it's going to read a little higher than the actual voltage with the bulb in place. If the...

Horizontal Tearing on Sony Beta VCR

You're not going to want to hear this, but I think your (tape reading) head is bad. It's usually cheaper to get an entire replacement Beta machine off ebay, that's where I get mine. As a last resort before you give up, check your tracking circuit inside the machine. The external tracking...

need help have a HE 8050C transistor?

I'll add the obvious, just in case. Some manufactures identify transistors from top view, others from bottom view (can sometimes appear reversed). I know at least one of your transistors is marked emitter, base, collector. But make SURE you install the replacement with the same 'polarity'...

Magellan 5050 Door mag wiring problems

I'm not familiar with this system. You might check to make sure your new door contacts are the right type. Normally open, or normally closed. Sometimes they make both types. Good luck

    Identify Motorola Transistor

Something made that transistor fry (again). Trace the circuit, and look for whatever is causing excessive current through the transistor. Otherwise you're just going to be making this repair again. I've found only a couple instances over the years where the HP transistors were underrated in...

    Identify Motorola Transistor

I got mine over the years from HP Bench Notes as they obsoleted their parts, but there are a half a dozen good ones on the web. Google 'Hewlett Packard Cross Reference to JEDEC', I just checked and a reasonably complete one is 'HP Cross Reference Michael A. Terrell' Hewlett Packard was the...

    Identify Motorola Transistor

Without a picture, you probably need a better physical description. I don't have a schematic on this unit. EBC indicates emitter/base/collector of a transistor. That would make your device a 1854-0514 (equivalent to MPS-U02). But it's not a TO-220 pkg, it's a Motorola Type 152 Case (Shorter...

    k2604 (Toshiba) equivalent

It's a 2SK2604. If you have access to NTE parts, equivalent is NTE2377. Otherwise, your best bet is to get an exact replacement. Good luck.

    White Transistor 1924

Anybody know the cross for old White transistors? I've got a White, TO-3 Pkg, marked 1924. I can't find a 2N1924 in a TO-3 Pkg, so I don't think the marking is JEDEC, I guess it's a White number. Does anybody know the JEDEC, real-world equivalent? Thanks.

    Repair Flex Circuit

If you can't buy a replacement, I've used davenn's method successfully, they sell a nickel and a silver (considerably more expensive) conductive repair paint. If you have any skill with a soldering iron (careful not to melt the plastic), I have also just soldered a jumper of conventional ribbon...

    AC current check Through multimeter

Only thing I can add to what has already been said: IF your multimeter reads AC current, you have to physically move the test probe lead from the Voltage/Resistance Jack on the meter, to Amps (other lead to common on the multimeter). Remember this jack is basically an electrical 'short'...

    Yaesu FT990

Check your voltage regulators (they come AFTER the transformer). Sounds like voltage regulator problem, or a power transistor failure, dragging your voltages down. Good luck

    Looking for High Quality potentiometer

I'm rebuilding a very old test and measurement instrument. I need some high quality pots for the repair (5K, 10K & 20K). The instrument was made in Britian, and internal space is very tight. Single-Turn. Critical size requirements: Pot diameter 3/4" max, Pot depth behind panel 1/2" max...

Proton 320 - will not stay turned off; comes back on by itself!

It may be IC controlled on/off function. But your description really sounds to me like mechanical. Is something on the housing rubbing against the PB switch part? Rubbing against the spring? (Slowing it's return to 'off' position). Sometimes when you reassemble housing onto chassis...

    Old Transistor Identification

Have some old TO-5 Can Package Transistors (?), trying to identify. Made by Texas Instruments. Does anyone recognize them? 20-007 Texas Instruments 20-050-001 20-050-002 20-058 I'm guessing they're proprietary, does anyone know what company this numbering system belongs too? Thanks
