Timer to trigger another timed pulse

That's very good Ron. Two things, just make sure the current consumption of the two modules doesn't flatten your car battery after long periods of not driving. And do you not need to connect the NO contact to the trigger of the second timer and not the NC? And don't forget to wire 12 Volts to...

Help With Lock Circuit - Transistors

You can only turn off the thyristor by removing the power in this instance. This could be your problem. I can't see where the inverter connects to the thyristor. Adam

    Ground loop of Agilent 33250A

Current must return to it's source so it is far better to know where it's going than it find another way and cause noise issues in other parts of your circuit or on the actual signal wire. Your circuit would work but where would the ground return current go? The other use of the first design is...

    Ground loop of Agilent 33250A

The current loop for what would be Ignd has now has a very high impedance in it. So not much current can be in the loop. This reduces the current in the shield to basically just the signal return current so has little effect on the voltage of RL. To add a further point the capacitor is the...

    Ground loop of Agilent 33250A

Hello. Answers to your questions which is my opinion only. 1) Current in the ground wire will cause Vgnd. Ground potential is not zero, only in theory. 2) No, when no there is no current in the shield (Ignd) you can't have a voltage drop across the shield so this can't effect the Vout. 3) I...

    angle grinder soft start?

Thinking about it, it might be just an NTC. Are there any marking on the device? Adam

    angle grinder soft start?

It's most likely a bespoke soft start module with Triac and controller built in. I think you may have trouble finding a spare part. Unless you by another second hand grinder with a different fault. Adam

    Cuk converter ripple current

So you know this is the transfer function for that particular opamp configuration. This is the gain Vout/Vin. What I think they want is for you to put all the Cs and Rs into the equation to get the gain. but you will also need to know the frequency. Doesn't look like it's in there does it? It is...

    Cuk converter ripple current

What course are you doing, is this a free course you can send me a link to? I can't believe they expect you to work this out without any course notes or an example, this is advanced stuff. Adam

Multiple power supplies (many stages in project)

In your first post you said you needed 9 Volts for the Arduino, so did you look to see if it will take 9 Volts? Then a regulator on board for the digital circuitry. Why don't you look at the data sheet for the Arduino your thinking of using, which you don't mention btw in your first post. Thanks...

Multiple power supplies (many stages in project)

If you can run your filter from +12 Volts only then this reduces your regulator count by 1. So you will only need a 12, 9, and 5 Volt regulator. If you did need -12 Volt then I wonder how you will process this on a 5 Volt system. Adam

DC Bus in a Loop Configuration. Problem?

I would see how it runs without any modifications first. If you start to have issues like jittering trains or trains that won't run then we can look at implementing some of the solutions discussed. Adam

DC Bus in a Loop Configuration. Problem?

Yes that's part of the story. The other part is although the capacitors will shunt noise from the power supply they also supply the necessary switching current demanded by the circuit. The smaller ceramic capacitors deal with the faster switching circuits demands and the larger capacitors deal...
