    Design assistance needed

Slightly off topic .... I found this large box of electronic components - there's everything in there under the sun. I have to make a trans-warp space drive and matter transmitter by the weekend. It doesn't need any coding but the parts I have need to be sorted into the right circuitry. Can...

    Solder issue.

If you make your layout with consideration for the current path you shouldn't be worried about using veroboard for such circuits. If it the works as a prototype you can consider, but are under no obligation, to make a pcb for it using the correct copper design techniques. I've used veroboard...

    Best solder to use

Keep it for nostalgia reasons - it's no good for anything else.

    Flashing 12v To Constant

If the lights are driven directly from the ECU then it makes the matter a little more complicated but it can still be done by connecting the turn signal voltage to a monostable whose period is set to be longer than the turn signal on/off period. This is, as mentioned above, a 'missing pulse'...

    Transceiver Circuit

The component positions on the pcb tend to follow their placement in the schematic except where circuits might cause self-inductance/interference between sections, in which case they are eihter 'screened' of they are placed at a distance that minimises the effects. For circuits that are already...

    premier massage chair repair???

The 'hello petals' was a bit of a give-away....... :D..... but in this day and age, who knows :p When you say that the foot rest 'wants to....' go up, do you mean that you can hear the motor associated with it actually turning? If you have checked for obvious obstructions, bent linkages and...

Wireless switch / outlet ~ RIP

This is a difficult one to advise on mainly because the receiver unit uses what's called a capacitive-dropper circuit to develop the 'low voltage' necessary to operate the receiver electronics. As a result, unless you know precisely what you're doing and exercise the appropriate caution then...

    Simple button Repair (I hope)

Inside the actual switch body I see the central and edge contacts..... they look to be pretty poor - could just be the cr@ppy focus though - so even if you could kapton-tape the dome over it you may still be looking at shonky/none operation. It looks as if the pushbuttons are used with series...

Convert Old Wireless Speakers into Bluetooth Wireless Speakers

If you can identify the audio amplification part of the existing speaker system then all you have to do is wire in the bluetooth module audio output to the input of that amp. If the wi-fi and amp are an integral board it may just be easier to fit a new amplifier module along with the bluetooth...

    Uniden Um 425 marine radio

Is the supply ok? Not using a dud battery are you? Possible overheating issue with the audio circuitry - has the set been opened recently?

    Talking to (ELM327-based?) OBD2 reader's UART over USB-RS232

xon/xoff isn't used for most ODB2 comms. Some USB-serial cables also have 'issues'. Do you have another make you can try? Try sending ATZ to reset the ODB2 device.

    Consumption of a Led Matrix

Individual colours should be treated as individual LEDs. Other than that, addiing in series or parallel as you have already correctly done is the correct way. But for larger matrix sizes it is common to multiplex the LEDs and average current is lower due to the pulsing used.

    Transceiver Circuit

The circuit, as drawn, is pefectly understandable given that it is drawn in the 'conventional' sense - positive rail at the top, ground rail at the bottom and elemental parts of the design from left-to-right. Individually the various sections are also drawn conventionally - the oscillator, the...

I see where you're coming from..... getting the most from such a competent printing device is good sense. I missed your line of thought.

    Car TV Monitor, Blown fuse

The diode is often wired across the supply lines to form a deliberate short in the event of wrong polarity connection. You can snip one end of the diode out of circuit to test that the rest of it still works as it should. Ideally, and to restore safety, you should replace the diode.

I didn't say such an S-band antenna wouldn't be impractical :p Experimentally, a small yagi would be the only reasonable solution.

    Denon AVR-X500 repair!

Replacing the IC is the obvious answer then. Without it you get zero sound. I suspect the only way you'll get a replacement board would be to salvaged one from a second set - they do come up on auction sites regularly...
