    Help me finding capacitor

ESR is frequency dependant so unless your frequency matches the data sheet test frequency you will get different results. ESR goes down with an increase in capacitance. So if you can go up in capacitance your ESR will go down and then you might not need a special capacitor type. Adam

    Measuring temperature and humidity

What research have you done . What are you transmitting to? What RF bands are you allowed to use in your country, if you don't know then I suggest 2.45 GHz global ISM band. What range do you want? How big are the batteries and how long do you want them to last. How much do you want it to cost...

    Boom gate for car park

Do you want to monitor the cars or the button. There is a difference. For actual car monitoring you would be better opting for an inductive sensing circuit that monitored the presence of the vehicle and the button press. If it's just the button monitoring and the assumption that a car has passed...

    Help understanding solar lamp circuit

Bobs right! They often do this to run LEDs from 1.2 Volts. The upside down circuit takes some getting used to. Could someone turn it around? Adam

need help fixing my record player

Ok Ok I am going to ask, have you checked for any blown fuses? I guess you have. When was it last working? Has it been stored for a long time, anyone drop it by accident? Adam

    4-20mA using XTR111

Ok I see it now. It should be this from HERE marked on original post. 0.4=m+3b b=0.133 Put this back into the first equation (0.4=m*0.5+b) 0.4 = m*0.5+0.133 m=(0.4-0.133) / 0.5=0.534 Sorted! Adam

Stranded Hookup Wire and Logic Circuits?

Another point if they are selling them for the use on Breadboards, and trying to poke stranded wire into the little holes. This could cause the small wires to fray out and possibly cause faults on the breadboard making it difficult to find this stray wire. Adam

    4-20mA using XTR111

Oh Sorry I didn't show how to get m without knowing any values. It uses simultaneous equations of a straight line graph. You can do this because the op-amp is linear as it is configured. You have two Vouts 0.4 V and 2 V and two Vins 0.5 V and 2 V Vout = m*Vin+b 0.4 = m*0.5+b 2 = m*2+b...

Stranded Hookup Wire and Logic Circuits?

Hi chopnhack The only reason I can think of is the flexible nature of the wire could mean they all touch. This would create capacitance between the wires causing interference. I can't see of any other reason. The other guys might know more Just a thought.

    4-20mA using XTR111

Here's my attempt at it. God I hate rearranging formulas :) So I am guessing you chose the 120K first, and kept the value for RF low for stability purposes. And you knew you wanted 1/2 supply so the RABP(RA||RB) value is just 60K. Obviously standard values might of swayed you to your choice in...

    Capacitor discharges rapidly

Why do you think it's the capacitor. There are other components that will cause a faster discharge that makes it appear as if the capacitor has lost capacitance. I think high pressure effects carbon resistors and it may well reduce the value, but I would have to look into this. Are you using...
