I want to connect a water sensor to a speaker

Use a wireless doorbell. Cheap as chips. Ready-made. Ranges dependent on the depth of your pockets! But not 'too deep'.....

How does a speedstack timer work?

Depends on the type of signal you want to activate the timer with - sound? Light? Pressure? Heat? etc etc. There are sensors for all applications. The basic idea is to use the sensor to convert the required signal into an electrical source and then, by means of signal processing (could be...

    Hi everyone

Fellow Brit too! I'm new(ish) here myself but thoroughly enjoying it.... I'm sure you will too.

    Ring Light LEDs ???

Not sure if you'll find a 'glass' LED anywhere - encapsulation is, obviously, something you've got covered so I'll not mention that subject. There are already ring light LEDs around (bare PCBs with the LEDs fitted) but dimensionally....??? Not sure what you need or what's on the market in that...

    Ring Light LEDs ???

Your most difficult task will be to waterproof it! Any size/colour/shape LED will work - there's a simple formula to calculate the voltage, current and dropper resistance (if used). LED dimmers are all over the web - consider using LED 'tape' as this can be purchased in 'waterproof' varieties...

circuit to show how much treble or bass

Google 'audio spectrum analyser'. Using a simple op-amp you can make a filter (or multiple filters) for the bands you want and the LED is usually a 'column' that indicates the level of signal. For single frequency bands (simple lo/hi) you could use the LM3915 to drive a bar graph LED display...

    Gear VR Internal Connectors

Here's a DF10 break out board that could work for the smaller connectors. It was designed for SMD integrated circuits but I suspect the socket would fit across the gap anyway. http://www.proto-advantage.com/store/images/PRODUCTS/IPC0088_0.JPG Not sure if you'll ever find one ready-made (with...

    Looking for a specific transformer

This thread is going to go on for dozens of pages if the OP doesn't start stating what he wants from his idea. One/two word answers don't cut it and we can't keep going by volunteering tiny bit after tiny bit based on 'nothing'. Might I suggest you get yourself a list of requirements that you...

    Gear VR Internal Connectors

The breakout board you show the picture of has spacing for the 0.4mm pitch connector and you can solder any size onto the board you want. Etching your own board to 0.4mm accuracy is fraught with difficulty but the usual suspect commercial board manufacturers would chuck out a load for a few $

Do you know where to find this case and design?

Get a Gameboy (old or newer versions) and put the bottom part in a larger box - flip the top open to use. Plenty of hacks out there for reusing the Gameboy screen.

    Gear VR Internal Connectors

Here's a typical connector on the Farnell (suppliers) website. There are others with different pin counts so search either using the pin count or by the manufacturer (as shown) http://uk.farnell.com/hirose-hrs/df37nb-10ds-0-4v-51/connector-rcpt-10pos-2row-0-4mm/dp/2427668

    Looking for a specific transformer

Some suggested research that you should consider reading up on. 1. Rectification - halfwave, fullwave (and its effect on the DC output and current delivered) 2. Battery chemistry - whatever type you're considering charging (the voltage/current/time and temperature requirements - they ALL make...

Do you know where to find this case and design?

Could be something knocked out by a 3D printer or cobbled together using whatever parts they had at hand! I can see three or four possible individual cases/parts to that 'item'. Rather than seek to replicate what they did, check out the standard case ranges available with a view to hinging two...

    Help with old GE boombox

The back plate comes off. Check for screws you've missed - potentially inside the battery compartment and/or under the cassette door. The cassette door should come off be pressing a couple of plastic tabs 'in' on either side of it and opening it up beyond it's normal 'open' position. Pull off...

    Help with Schematic?

All the points marked 3.7V are supposed to connect to a supply of 3.7V !!! All the points marked with the 'ground' symbol (the upside-down 'tree' shape) connect to the power supply common rail - or 0V or 'negative' terminal if you like. The thermistor isn't directly connected across the...

    UPS

By using an inverter - a large 'oscillator' that converts the 12V DC to a 'sine wave' and steps it up to 230V using a transformer.

    UPS battery

'some' SLA batteries have ports where you can lever out a 'lid' and refill cells - but not ALL batteries (SLA) have this. This is why they are called SEALED Lead Acid!! Your battery may be 'worn out' - they don't last forever and if they are over 3 years old they will be worse for storing...

How to reconnect this tiny cable?

A very short length protruding - with most of that wire wrapped around the tip of your iron may work. Thicker wire would help.

How to reconnect this tiny cable?

Probably not. You need a 'mass' of heat and a screwdriver tip will probably cool to the point of useless almost immediately you remove it from the heat source. No harm in trying though....
