    Just for Fun

I like the above posts. But the OP was why? I know it burnt out and too much current was applied. As Dave said, red meat to charred meat. But in the electronics world, the led needs a certain forward voltage to EMIT. (light up). And current too. If that current exceeds the operating parameters...

    prosound pav-3000D

Hi, I can only find websites in Hebrew. If you are willing to open it up, you could check the volume pot to see if has three terminals or a forth terminal opposite the three. This forth terminal is set at 1/2 and has caps to boost signals. It's a loudness pot. May be worth checking it out. Martin

    Mic detection circuit

You are absolutely correct Chris. Clearly you haven't been supporting the grape growers yet. I am making quite a mess of my mic now......

    Mic detection circuit

It has two mics inside, not one single mic. Hence the left and right channels. I was just curious to open one of my Shure mics and have a look. Mine is mono and only has sleeve and tip. The op's picture shows a stereo plug, sleeve, ring and tip. That is why I asked.. Martin

    Mic detection circuit

I just took apart one of my mics to have a look. The switch is a dpdt but only one side is used, so spst. I don't have a low to high impedence transformer. With the switch in the OFF position it is a direct short. ON position is 175Ω.

    panasonic kx-tg7744 Home Phone

Hi animefreak, Registering a handset should be the same as in the link I will point to. Jump to page 5 and 6 for Bluetooth and page 48 for adding additional handsets. This manual is the same make, just a different model. But programming should be the same. Have a read Here. STRANGE, the link...

    Mic detection circuit

I've been watching this thread and get further discombobulated with each post. Is this a standard stereo microphone? If it is, 1 is the sleeve and ground. 2 is right channel and 3 is left. Chris has supplied some good examples of how mics are wired. Instead of speculating, take the thing apart...

    Modernise old rotary telephone

Hi Myjyc, I know nothing about Arduinos or programming. But the old rotary telephones didn't work on tones. That all happened with the newer push button phones. The rotary was electrical pulses on the return, not turning the dial to a specific number. So you would have to find a way of turning...

    prosound pav-3000D

Hi there, I can't find any reference to that amp at all. Is it a Pro-sound or prosound? ie Maplin. Is it a power amp or hi-fi amp? Either way, are you sure you cannot access the loudness through the menu? (if it has one). Martin

    Microwave Door Switch

Nobody in their right mind would put a 4 amp switch with a 4 amp load! The switch is way above the MAX ratingh. USE it, Itr will be fine. As Dave Said , That is the Maximum rating for that switch. Use the one you boought., It will work just fine. Martin

Can I use a blender motor as a fan?

This was a thread, Can I use a blender for a fan? The answer is simply YES. Obviously there would be other problems. ie . RPM, Vibration, blade size and diameter. The OP isn't making a helicopter, Yes, it will work. Not a desirable fan but a fan. Martin

Position of one device relative to another.

That was very tongue in cheek Chris. A good idea though!! And yes, The mythbusters made smoke. I made a Burnt smell. I have actualy fried a spider though. I have had more productive experiments with a magnifying glass though. So I guess I failed.. Martin

    Vizio blue ray player

Hi banjo, Sounds like you are getting good voltage on that cap. (doesn't mean it is good though). I would check the diodes next, put your meter to continuity and put meter leads to cathode and anode one way and then reverse the leads. Martin

    regulating transistor mosfet

Just make sure you have a way to disable it if it all goes wrong!!! I have always wanted to do something similar since all my tools were stolen. The police told me I would get arrested if I did this.. WTF.. As you have private land, you can do what you want. I would think the thief would rather...

    Vizio blue ray player

Hi banjoman, That capacitor will go to ground. It is polarised, so has neg and positive terminals. But you should see 110 directly across it. Martin
