    DC Wall Adapter...

It's not going to happen. An 800W power supply using a transformer to step the mains down will not only pull the plug out of the socket, it will also probably crush your foot. On the other hand, if you can get a -135 resistor, anything might happen.

    Keithley 600B input mosfets

Well, 2N3565's are still available. On ebay they go for anything up to $10 each. Apparently they are considered to hold some special form of magic for those who make guitar pedals. Do reverse biased base emitter junctions perform better than zener diodes? Less leakage perhaps? Without...

    Keithley 600B input mosfets

He are some pictures (And I thought I'd let you see a hint of some wonderful warm evening weather as well) Firstly the Keithley 600B The manual can be found here and here. (Some parts are more readable in one vs the other) And with the side cover removed. The small board toward the lower...

    Keithley 600B input mosfets

Along with the two FETs there are 2 devices which appear to be zener diodes (in TO-18 packages) and another pair of devices. It looks like either the schematic is "simplified" or was changed in a later version. I'll get some photos later today. Edit: oh yeah, whilst it would be cool to use...

    Keithley 600B input mosfets

Some of the stuff I did during the weekend was to clean up the battery compartment (the foam had badly deteriorated) and to replace the 1.35V murcury cell. The cleanup was accomplished with a combination of isopropyl alcohol and acetone and elbow grease. The parts requiring cleaning were...

    Keithley 600B input mosfets

I started fixing up a Keithley 600B electrometer over the weekend. The problem I'm having at the moment is that the input stage is rather suspect. The device is essentially an OP-AMP made with discrete components. It allows measurement of extremely low currents, and very high resistances...

I need help,AC/AC power transformer, please take time and read...

Adding a resistor is not a good option. Measure it and get back to us. Even better might be to contact the designer of this device and ask what a safe maximum AC input voltage is. I assume that their recommendation of 15 to 20 via takes into account factors like line voltage variation and...

    Model Ship LED Project

Make sure you take note of the possible problem with the flashing LEDs. At the very least, wire it up to test before you cut it to your model.

I need help,AC/AC power transformer, please take time and read...

Yes, the 20V 6A transformer should be fine. The specs go as far as to tell you there is no maximum current rating. It may be wise to check that the secondary voltage is not too high given the low load on the transformer.

Can an old Ni-Cd battery charger be used for Ni-MH batteries?

Assuming they were flat, yes, you would require more than 10 hours. The rule of thumb for NiCd was 40% more, but they are far more tolerant of overcharge. You will get a far better indication of you note the temperature of the cells and remove then when the temperature spikes. If you're not...

    LED Wiring

There are some important differences between batteries and a 4.5V power supply. Firstly, the voltage on the batteries will change from maybe 4.8V when new down to a little over 3V when the batteries are to flat to produce any noticable light from the LEDs. The 4.5V power supply, if...

    Floating current source

You will need to ensure that your input voltage is also floating because both this circuit and your signal source must share a common ground.
