    5V short circuit protection

That last link is with an lm358?/7805 and Opamp the sense resistor is just a copper track and they work fine (just about).. yes buy that

    5V short circuit protection

A polyfuse is a good idea are more advanced option would be to use an opamp/sense resistor...

Need Some Help Finding the Right MOSFET

A resistor in series with the diode? 1kish should do... But it will be tricky though because you wont get much headroom above a volt according to the simulator...

Need Some Help Finding the Right MOSFET

Ebay has a lot of over/under voltage circuits on batteries including the protection circuit (ironically costing more than a battery with an ic protecting it lol) Why we talking about protected batteries anyway? They annoy me lol... Basically a zener diode in conjunction with the enable pin...

    Android SMS encryption tool.

Because there's no key involved from the users end view (eg no password to enter) it uses a static method of encoding it, it's not fancy it was only meant to be enough to bypass chat filters (originally intended for yahoo chat) So it encodes the message before sending, on recv of a text, it...

Old LCD-TV (Sony Wega KLV-20SR3) Problem

If it is the dead fluro, you should be able to start disconnecting cables until the tv powers up minus backlighting... the led flickers would suggest a heavy load or short? Test all the power points and disconnect the fluros..

Undervolt the input of a transformer - what happens?

I think motors should be designed in a way little fins could be added to draw in air to cool itself while working?

Undervolt the input of a transformer - what happens?

The caps can't be directly connected to the primary winding... Undervoltage in undervoltage out, with less available current on the secondary winding..

    Android SMS encryption tool.

Police, Government, telecom can all access your phone text logs and read what you send... So i thought i'd write a little app which sends encoded messages to each other and instead of having an app that displays old sms, it wont only new sms sent when closed it's gone...

    Maintaining constant voltage...

I was looking for the equivalent lm317 circuit so i can design my own with a lower forward voltage drop in current mode... After simulating it, i found it's not really doing what an lm317 did (maintaining 1.5v above the adj pin) But i'm still working on the circuit, i'll post it when it's...

    12v to 5v DC-DC converter hum

A ground loop isolator sounds like a fix (or a crap load of capacitance to filter out the switching going on)

Transistor switching on another voltage supply

How? Then it occurred to me, there's only 1v which is not enough for the optoisolator to light the LED, you'd need the transistor to share grounds with at least a 3vish source to fire an opto at which point why bother and tie grounds with the 12v source ...
