    Aluminum Extrusion

In the end I found This on Ebay. It is perfect but the shipping makes me ill and it's much more material than I need. The same supplier also listed This Extrusion available in shorter cutoffs. The shipping still sucks but I ordered it anyway. I'll have to cut off the extra flange but I gain a...

    SAY WHAT!?!?!?!?

Well Kissimmee is beyond my cycling radius. For the most part I don't travel to places I can't cycle to in one day. :) I hope you made it to the Circle B Bar Reserve while you and the family were there. It's really worth seeing. Though no roller coasters and such. Just carnivorous critters free...

    Aluminum Extrusion

Since I have a fair stash of aluminum flats and square tubing that was my original plan. But then I've been so spoiled by China's Ebay cheap prices I thought why go through the work if I can get it in a single extrusion. Problem is I didn't see any on Ebay and the stuff that is available are...

    SAY WHAT!?!?!?!?

Harald, I'm disappointed that you visited Florida and didn't tell me you were coming. It's a large state but if you were near Palm Beach County we could have broke beer together. Chris

    SAY WHAT!?!?!?!?

There's a very old adage that the Lathe is the only machine that can build itself. The Gingery Lathe project is an example of this. This video is absolutely COOL! The transformer didn't build itself but it did weld itself back together! I loved it! Chris

Want to read some clueless and scary stuff? Go here... ... and read the short thread about not having a 240VAC receptacle by Amar Sew and the reply by Allen McKinney. I wonder if this guy is still alive? Chris

    electromagnetism

Guess(1): It was a school project. The due date of which has long past, along with the OP. Guess(2): It's an "I'm gonna get rich"! idea that can't be divulged to the people who are expected design it. Guess(3) It's just another one of Steve's "Nubies Mystery Circuit Circus" entrees. :p Chris

GPS NMEA, Failover Circuit upgrade attempt.

Actually, I find Tina very easy to use. It's schematic editor is superior to others I've used. Tina's component symbols aren't overly large and clunky, which I don't like about LTSpice. Oh, happy to read that the pull-down resistors stabilized the RS232! Chris

    Who-da Thunk?

You know the old saying "You gain something. You loose something"? Well it just hit me that using that USB Null Modem cable I loose the use of my inline RS232 LED testers that I've been using for well over a decade, maybe two...

    Who-da Thunk?

Yes to all of your questions Harald. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!! That cable is unique because it can be used in Virtual CommPort (VCP) mode or direct USB-2 to USB-2. Depending on the drivers used for the null modem link. They supply both and can be selected and changed to use...

How to talk to a usb device

Besides the good information you've already received (especially Bob's) you might do better by posting a link to the device in question. Armed with that information our membership can reply with more accurate replies or suggestions more specific to your device. On the programming end I'm sure...

    Who-da Thunk?

Harald goes home with one gold star for understanding my question by a factor of 50%. OK, here's my explanation. In the old days when all PC's had RS232 ports you could link two PC's with a Null Modem cable. If a single PC had two serial ports you could also communicate between the two ports...
