Bosch Cordless Drill GSR 12-2 Charger testing

Just to report back on this drill. Had one battery pack repacked (slightly higher capacity batteries) and working like a charm, charger also behaving perfectly. So thanks for the help guys. One happy chappy

    Motor peculiarity

My 2c, and it really is 2c as I don't know nuffink about these things but aren't the windings picking up a problem under load.

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

Well, I had a look at this: It looks possible. But I would like to determine that it is the port before I go through the process of ordering one and replacing. Using the USB port to connect to the router seems possible after getting the appropriate connectors/adaptors

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

Here's a link to the USB port's datasheet: //html.alldatasheet.com/html-pdf/160325/BEL/SI-80007-F/57/1/SI-80007-F.html kellys_eye: Active? Can I check it somehow to confirm that it's faulty?

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

Thanks davenn. Now if I find a male to female usb adaptor (thought I had one) I'll try and connect wireless with a wifi dongle

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

@dave9: Thanks for caring enough. I might be missing the USB plot. The "USB" port on the printer looks like the RH plug on this picture:

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

Thanks kellys_eye It's plugged into a router and I've tried different ports and replaced cable. If I plug the cable into the router the relevant port's green light flashes once and then stays off. No lights come on on printers lan port

HP CM1312nfi MFP Printer network port dead

The RJ45 network port on this printer died. No lights burning when cable plugged in. Here's a photo of the network pcb: The plug bottom left I get 3.3V on the yellow cable and 1V on the pink cable. Can't feel any chips getting hot. Pulled and reinserted all cables on board. Now I'm stuck...

DEFY magnetron - stuck with removal?

Stick a screwdriver in there and give it a couple of sharp raps with a hammer. Can you get a vise gripper in there?

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

Thanks Alec_t non-linearly, heh, been looking at a 18650 discharge graph and it's a rather vicious spiky sawtooth that could make some component rather unhappy. Spikes to about 4.7V, eek! Will have to tiptoe through the tulips rather carefully here.

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

I really feel that all I need to do is drop 4.2V (if it's really 4.2V- why does an 18650 battery state 3.7V on it?) to 3V. If I need to drop from 4.2 can I use 2 diodes in series and parallel a resistor over 1 of the diodes thereby reducing the drop in the second diode? (Value of resistor to be...

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

Thanks *steve* but the 18650's would be ideal. Low battery warning comes on, I grab a charged 18650, walk outside to the pole and swap out flat for charged in battery box at bottom of pole

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

Alec_t: On the Davis forum's the consensus seems to be 2.7V at which you get a low battery warning.

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

Thanks *steve* That's getting a bit complicated for me to understand. Been looking at datasheets of the diodes I got but non comprehendo. But I see you do get 3V Zeners, only trouble is our esteemed postal service is on strike again, so making something work with what I got is currently first prize

Davis Vantage Vue weather station: stop replacing battery

Thank you kellys_eye, Alec_t and *steve* for all the great advice. I am still leaning towards using 18650's as they are batteries that I use a lot around the house. I have however remembered that a fully charged 18650 sits around 4.2V. Hmmm. Isn't this a problem? Just did an inventory of my...
