    Edd, after seeing the schematic you drew it only confirms the comments I made regarding the circuit link I posted. RE SMD resistor mounted upside down. There should be a law! RE the 2.2Ω Vcc decoupling resistor. I don't think it does much. Heck, it doesn't even have a bypass cap associated...

    My skill in 'C' is just about zip but doesn't the Propeller accept "text strings"? Most languages recognize strings by putting them between "quotes".     Yes, I've ranted about th(-)s practice before. It is so damn counter intuitive that th(+)s should be made international LAW! By the way John, they actually make coaxial inline adapters to reverse this obnoxious practice. No cutting, wire swapping and soldering required. ;) Chris

    Another thought.. I think we can make the divider-rectifier- filter capable of driving the analog input of an LM3914. The circuit would have to be powered by batteries or mains to LVDC power though. Chris
