    One wire light bulb?

Yes, free space does have an impedance 376.73 Ohms. Look it up on Wikipedia under the title "Impedance of free space".

How to make this circuit unity gain?

Ok. The Texas Instruments datasheet that I saw didn't show the capacitor. An improved version could give a little better linearity. Having said that, the average person probably wouldn't discern the difference.

    One wire light bulb?

Hmm, a demonstration of the impedance of space????

How to make this circuit unity gain?

Removing R2 and C2 (and the corresponding parts from the other half of the circuit) will yield a gain of unity. Have looked at the datasheet for the NE5534 and there is no indication that it may become unstable in this configuration. A simple way to check if this is so is to read the datasheet...

    Capacitor selection question

I would go for the one's with the higher ripple current.

    DIY voltage Regulator

Heinzy. No reason why you shouldn't use a 5V1 zener diode. The 2V4 was just put in for demonstration purposes. The feedback resistor ratio will need to be adjusted to reflect the change. In the example on this site, the gain is set by R1 and R2 and is about 4 ie R1 / R2 +1. The reference voltage...

    Schottky diode input protection

Schottky's can be a bit leaky. Try replacing them with 1N4148 or similar which was the go-to device for this purpose for many years.

What are these 2 "extra" red wires for? Li-Ion RC Battery

Ah, but the typo was clud not clod. Connotations eh.

What are these 2 "extra" red wires for? Li-Ion RC Battery

Fraid not cloud is cloud unt german at least according to google translate it is. If my wife was still with us I would ask her. Or more accurately unt deutsche.

What are these 2 "extra" red wires for? Li-Ion RC Battery

Yup, that looks as though it should fit the bill. How do they do it for the money. I couldn't buy the bits for that price.

What are these 2 "extra" red wires for? Li-Ion RC Battery

LiPo batteries are very commonly used by the model aero, car, boat fraternity. Therefore there is a fairly large number of charge management devices available at sensible prices with all sort of paraphernalia to accompany them. Have a look on the Hobbyking web site. A cautionary note: Do not...

    DIY voltage Regulator

AK. I try not to buy ebay bits in but, must confess I do so occasionally out of sheer laziness. But stuff like the circuit supplied can be knocked up with bits from goodie drawers, bins, boxes wherever in no time at all. I suppose the main virtue of being able to do so means that you can build...

    DIY voltage Regulator

Fair enough AK but, you don't learn anything by just buying stuff in.

Bent quite a few too. Good fun though. Always something to learn.

    Help with fence charger schematic

Yup. A larger spark gap on the fence to ground will give some protection against a lightning strike. Again, the generated emf is controlled by the spark gap on the output. The fence should be grounded with a stake into the earth. A choke to ground could be a good idea as it would ring and...

Do you still need thermal paste when using a silicone elastomer?

It is not necessary but will not hurt. I find it useful though to use a smear to stick the pad to my heat sink whilst assembling bits. It saves having to chase parts all over.

    Leakage voltage in relay mecanical

Davenn's response sound like a fair bet. I may be possible to prove that by placing the meter probes very close to the measurement point without actually touching and see what the meter reads.
