    IGBT help needed

Sorry for waiting so long to respond. I was hoping that another member with hands on familiarity of IGBJTs would chime in by now. Unfortunately the part numbers you posted are not OEM numbers. At this point there's no way to find the manufacturer's DataSheet for it. We may be able to provide...

    Problem with picaxe 14m2

This was extracted from the Picaxe Getting Started PDF and I completely forgot about this issue! Make sure your jumper is in the Programming position. If it isn't I would expect you'd get the error message you're reporting. ;) Chris

    Problem with picaxe 14m2

I haven't replied to my topic on the Picaxe forum either. Partly because I don't fully agree with the answers provided by (Hippy) Technical. I simply don't buy that the Picaxe software can't differenciate between a virtual port and a real one! The software most likely gets its port data by...

    looking for a "center-bore" motor

Ah, I forgot about them. Too bad the bore is much smaller than he needs. After all they're quiet and efficient. Chris

    Modernise old rotary telephone

FYI, I just stumbled upon youtube vids regarding this topic. Evidently there are commercially made inexpensive modules that convert the pulse dialer to DTMF. Chris

Actually, I'm much steadier in that state than after the gallon of morning coffee I drink. Though, I do stay out of my wood / metal shop in that state. ;) Chris

Help getting my circuit to work - sound card osciloscope calibrator

Steve, speaking for myself I hope you didn't get the impression that I was trying to stifle Robert's enthusiasm. Definitely to the contrary. Possibly if links to your designs had been posted we would have been more enlightened regarding how they were to be used. We didn't see the astable FF...

frequency range too small on 555 timer circuit?

Alec, I like it. It's a clever simple circuit but it's giving me a case of deja vu. Have you ever posted that circuit elsewhere? Chris

    looking for a "center-bore" motor

A "small' motor with a 4cm hollow spindle? Seems like an oxymoron. o_O There are some wood turning lathes that employ this type of motor (hollow spindle) but not with a 4cm bore. Those motors aren't small either. The motor is the headstock itself with an MT2 or MT3 taper on the inboard end...

Adam, is the first schematic supposed to be the power supply for this AFF? Chris

Help getting my circuit to work - sound card osciloscope calibrator

As stated repeatedly here your Sound Card Scope is strictly an AC instrument. Whatever that circuit is supposed to be (it has errors) it's going to have a DC output that can't be seen or measured by your scope. Chris

Driving both N and P mosfet with same power supply

Well your schematic is more akin to a PCB layout. It's absolutely painful on old eyes. That said and unless my eyes have totally failed me, I don't see how any of that will work properly. For starters you have the LEDs and the current limiting resistors wired in parallel with the Drain-Source...

Driving both N and P mosfet with same power supply

Hello and welcome to EP. We speak the schematic language here, so it's best to post schematics of what you want to do. PCH FETs can be inverted similar to the way we use PNPs with a positive rail supply. When the Gate is brought to GND it will be gated on. Chris

1V audio burst every OTHER pushbutton

You did just fine. In fact you went above and beyond the norm. Many of us will spend time spicing a circuit for a member, including me .. but I've never gone into my shop and done metal work for anyone. Chris

    Flyback driver for Jacob's Ladder?

Ha! Ya haven't lived until you've purchased a Chinese (direct) item off ebay and contacted the seller for additional information or to clarify a spec. While they're the lowest price (CLONE) experts of the world their international communications skills are nearly non existent. Chris
