Help with a flasher circuit with 555 Timer IC

Alec, when I viewed your schematic earlier I could have sworn the Trig pin was floating. I don't see that now. What's the Diodes for? Chris Edit: Another look and I see what D7, D8 (isolation) are doing but what's D8 used for?

    Mic detection circuit

You say "similar" your photo indicates a "Dynamic" mic. To me this means a coil and diaphragm as apposed to an Electret mic. I googled the mic in your photo. Does yours have similar specs. M-5 Dynamic Mic Chris

Very Simple Circuit but cannot work! Please help.

I believe it means "Tri-State" Register. IE a port that can have one of 3 states. High (5V), Low(0V) or Open(Hi Z). Chris

    Problem with picaxe 14m2

Dev, version '6.0.8.0' is very different from the previous Picaxe releases. It includes a step by step (graphics included) CommPort testing wizard. Next time you test the port using the Picaxe GUI do it with nothing connected to the end of the cable. The only way I can imagine frying a Picaxe...

Help with a flasher circuit with 555 Timer IC

Just a guess Harald but I think you're going find a few issues with this one too. :) Chris

1V audio burst every OTHER pushbutton

I'm not certain I can answer this accurately. I'm not that familiar with the hookups that musicians typically use. Though I would think that it would be desirable to have all audio inputs independent of each other. Doing so eliminates loading effects that parallel wired devices would certainly...

I read your description and looked at your circuit. I don't get it? Chris

    NPN and relay cct

Thanks for the reply Jason. So if I understand you correctly there is no evident issue that would disqualify low side switching? Chris

1V audio burst every OTHER pushbutton

Using a 'Y' connection to parallel the Mic isn't a good idea. I think you would be well advised to use mixer techniques. Chris

    Problem with picaxe 14m2

OK, that's definitely a Picaxe generated message. There are somethings that have not been clarified as yet. EG this reply. ........ Are you saying your PC has a real Serial Port and that you're not using a USB/Serial converter? Also, I know you replied that you've checked all the items we...

    clever vibration motor driver?

Ha, isn't that the truth! I went back to the first post in this topic to see if there was one of those ..."Hi, I'm new to electronics...." intros. Happy to say... not there. Very thorough! Something we're not accustomed too. :D Chris Chris

Yes it does. It included details that will go a long way in aiding us to help you. ;) It also keeps you safe from falling into the dreaded Nubies Mystery Circuit Circus section. :p Chris

Position of one device relative to another.

Hop, I clicked the link and now I'm convinced that your earlier statements in this thread, or maybe it was another thread regarding aliens having nearly no involvement in the development of ....???? was a subterfuge. I'm beginning to believe that you're Green and have pointy ears! :D Chris

You know,.. I was just kidding when I made my last post but now you're bordering on being a candidate for our "Nubies Mystery Circuit Circus". This is a section of our forum that was suggested by one of our Moderators. I think it was Steve but I'm not positive. If you don't want to be...

What is it about the 555 that continues to always tweak my interest and draw me to those threads? Take this thread for example. LL's reply involves debouncing the switch and a logic block (FF) chip. All logical stuff but as usual it gets me thinking "Can I do this exclusively with 555's"? My gut...

    clever vibration motor driver?

15 years! Heck, you're a puppy. :p I still have a stock of first generation LEDs. I remember a bunch of us (coworkers) standing there asking "Is it ON yet? Someone turn off the lights"! :D They've come a long, long way. Chris
