You're welcome. I used to get them at Radio Shack because they were convenient,... back when they used to stock components. Chris

    help with voltage divider

It's amusing how a single character typo can totally change a sentence. I don't know how this reads in Australia, NZ, GB and Germany but here in the U.S. it's,.. let's say,.. uh... not rated G. :D Cheers, Chris

    Help with light detection keyboard

It better be a well designed enclosure because you're going to have about 58 PSI of water pressure on it at that depth. Chris

    interupting a circuit

Keep in mind that you can purchase a inexpensive Sonalert which is a Piezo element driven by an integral oscillator. There are 3 wire models available that can be operated as a constant tone or intermittent beeps (~1BPS) by simply applying power to the intermittent conductor and (-) common. Chris

2 pole low frequency shelving filter design

What are you driving the input with? Your OpAmp appears to be abruptly changing output polarity as it approaches zero crossing. I can't reproduce your scope results in a Tina simulation. I'm simulating with a 200mVPP @ 3.4KHz input signal and get a unity gain (clean) output of ~200mVPP. Are you...

    Simple Switch using Photo Diode

For what you're describing it will require a microcontroller or far more circuitry than any of those simple examples. Chris

    Sensorless BLDC motor driven synchronously.....hrmmm...

I'm looking at this with a far more basic but logical approach. If you apply an apposing force (drag) to the output shaft while RPM is maintained then the laws of physics dictates power dissipation had to increase somewhere. In this case it's outputted as increased torque delivered to the shaft...

Charging plate capacitor to a high voltage

I'm disappointed in myself. I read Oseania's requirements and intentionally didn't read any replies, as I wanted to submit my own simple but clever solution. Instead I made myself another Vodka & Grapefruit, gave up and read Duke's solution. :D Good thinking Duke! Chris

    Sensorless BLDC motor driven synchronously.....hrmmm...

While I claim absolutely no stepper motor expertise whatsoever; this finding doesn't surprise me at all. It seems like logical physics. Chris

    DPDT switch question

Jim, would you please post the schematic of your circuit? I know that you stated that the reverse switch will never be operated while the motor is running but I think many of us would feel more confident about that after we see the circuit. I've been turning wood for over 25 years and I can...

Lab power supply from microwave transformer project.

Well it used to be included under my avatar. This the first time I've noticed that it's gone. Another senior moment I guess. Anyway, My QTH is South Florida USA. Welcome Aboard! Chris

Lab power supply from microwave transformer project.

Damien, a couple of notes here. CAT3 - CAT5 UTP cable is cheap. A 1ft. length of it will produce more breadboard jumpers than yon a you'll use in a year. Each conductor is the proper gauge for these breadboards too. If you use solid core that's too large you will stress the breadboard contacts...

Why not? If I could I would gladly post code snippets but C is not my forte. gatoulisss, regardless of the progamming language certain procedures are common to all of them. It's just the syntax that's different. MikroC will undoubtedly provide you with a large library of functions. These are...

    PIC emulator software

Well, I've got some run time using MPLAB v8.92 under my belt now and am beginning to feel comfortable within the IDE. I'm curious about the "Output To File" option found under the right click menu in the all of the register windows. That option only seems to grab a single register address and...

Hey Guys, don't let this just end here. There are members out here (including me) following these threads with the hope of learning PICs through stray coupling. Chris
