As previously noted, PR's are too slow to respond in missing pulse detector circuits. Use a PhotoTransistor. You don't have to use a uC's ADC input for this. Any digital port will do. Therefore, you can eliminate the voltage divider too. Chris

    Who Is This?

My wife says that if it's not electronics or politically related I have the memory retention of a box of rocks. Perhaps she's correct because I thought you contracted a pulmonary fungus while visiting the in-laws in the Philippines. Wow, handsome devil but looks very expensive! Put a beard...

    Who Is This?

Dave, I broke down. My profile now has a picture of me from last Thanksgiving at my sister's home in frozen Pennsylvania. It's guaranteed to make you feel young again. As you can see Santa doesn't look like a happy camper. Hey, I know you were going in for more tests, What did the doctors...

    Flip-flop switch

You're describing a common SR Flip Flop that is easily made from common logic gates. http://seminarprojects.com/Thread-study-the-working-of-rs-flip-flop-using-nand-gates-and-nor-gates-and-compare-them Chris

    Who Is This?

Dave, had to take a peek at your profile to see if you really are an old fart. Not yet but you're on the precipice! I hadn't considered putting a photo of this old face in my profile because it usually elicits Santa Clause cracks. :D Chris

    Who Is This?

Doubtful that's a "she" and I doubt that person will be back. That individual has issues! Chris

Uh, I didn't know this either. Thanks, Chris

    Who Is This?

It sure does but if you want to retain that sweet inocent image of her don't Google her. Cool, I didn't know that. Thanks, Chris

    Who Is This?

Well yeah! In my book you are. ...And why do you know this? :D I think you captured a wee little diamond on that honey's tooth. Dunka! Chris

I started a topic here. https://www.electronicspoint.com/a-t253573.html#post1501802 I just have to know!! Chris

    Who Is This?

Can someone please tell me who this is? I'm not referring to the obnoxious new member with the immense chip on his or her shoulder, I'm referring to the member's avatar. It does not belong to this individual because I've seen this lovely lady many times, usually in avatars. Besides, no one this...

Ich denke, dass dies kurz davor ist, sehr hässlich zu werden! You can take that for what it's worth but please consider the following: How many languages exist on this earth? If you knew the answer could you speak all of them? I'm fortunate that I speak the language that's considered...

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

Observation: This motor has an inexpensive rocker switch on it. I can't fathom how this was supposed to survive while heavy duty relays, including a tractor starter solenoid, failed consistently. To dismiss this would be illogical. Chris

Exactly. I think they're fused @ 10A, or used to be. Chris

    Photography Laser Trigger

This is worth a mention to nubes and even old dogs that may not know. A quick and simple way of checking TV and other IR remote transmitters is with your cell phone cam. You can visibly see it flashing digital data. ;) Chris

    Photography Laser Trigger

I think you'd be much better off with an IR Photo Transistor. PR's are changing value in slow motion in comparison. I would think a common 555 would do fine for the triggering and timing. Regarding microcontrollers: If this is a one off project it's hard to beat a Picaxe...

    Circuitry design

Where did you find this schematic? http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/tm_adapt.gif The zeners and the 10KΩ resistors are presumably there for ring voltage protection but the 10KΩ resistors leaves next to no audio power to drive the 600Ω tel line. While we're on the subject the tel line is a...
