    how to discharge battery

I'm curious about what you intend to make comparisons with to get a result you claim.

    IC Chip question.

Chips are originally made to fit mass production machines...hence "spring loaded" fit. As far as any "secret" to fitting them, as long as they are not static sensitive, I grab them by each end and push sideways against a piece of pine or similar. Once for each side, works for me. Then again...

    LM317 2N3055 Variable Circuit Problems

This may be more in your league....... Scroll down to power supply voltage and current regulated. Leave the "super " one. May other circuits and ideas that may interest you as well. http://chemelec.com/Projects/Projects.htm cheers ...Jorgo

    AWG?

Have no idea what a "commo system" is or for that matter the other reference numbers but in any mobile system such as cars, trucks (and tanks) the objective would be to use flexible cabling. Fire resistant cabling, just in the context alone, will be hard to find, expensive(very) and difficult to...

Also if you are considering soldering it at any stage .......

    LM317 2N3055 Variable Circuit Problems

I have both a Topward TPS2000 and a TPS4000 (latter dual tracking). Both have voltage/current adjust/limit. I had to re-build both after the massive 1 in 100 year flood we had here in 2013.( yes, the dreaded 13 ) Still gives me the heeby geebies when I think about it......(tom tits for...

    help connecting 555 timer

Also wondering if you've given any thought to the possability of using a/d converter. Even the little Arduino have 10 bit a/d converters. You could use a couple of inputs there to cover your 2000 odd sensors. What do you intend to do once you find it is the 2156th sensor? If it is solely to...

    help connecting 555 timer

I'm also wondering how one ir sensor will be able to differenciate from another when physically spaced a little over 30 thousandths of an inch apart. For me, that would be the starting point.

    LM317 2N3055 Variable Circuit Problems

 You don't reeeealy believe that deep down do you...???:) On a more serious note, the front aluminium panel is exposed to mains wiring ( single insulation) and as such under any wiring code , should have an earth connected.( that and any other metal including any screws that penetrate...

Challenge of Voltage/Digital standards differences between USA and Asia

Assuming it is neutral current from the isolated supply returning through the toroid on an earth leakage type breaker............ Yes but I doubt you would be able to follow the details or have the necessary equipment to do so.

Challenge of Voltage/Digital standards differences between USA and Asia

Is the "circuit breaker" tripping on overcurrent or on earth leakage (big difference).

Where to find Single Phase Brushless DC Motor, or way of conversion

As Minder says, it needs 3phase ac. Perhaps a couple of interlocked changeover relays on 2 phases of the control module, which easiest would be say a hobbyking controller for maybe 10 or 15 bucks.

Very slow sewing machine motor operation.

Standard triac phase angle controller....nothing special. Heating of the motor at low speeds will still apply. As for keeping the current up...water is an analogy for electricity.i.e. more current does not assist cooling.

Auto reversing polarity after a few milliseconds (for solenoid control)

Harold, The microswitches are momentary contact so no overheating or excessive current drain would occur.

Auto reversing polarity after a few milliseconds (for solenoid control)

Ok...the microswitch arrangement I mentioned earlier will do if you just need manual switching.

Auto reversing polarity after a few milliseconds (for solenoid control)

When I quoted the old type bed lamp switch it was a means to describe what might be going on inside the valve. Was not meant that you should use it as a switch for your device.

Can you detect leaking batteries electronically?

Yep...my smokies get the hiccups....... other devices are radio control transmitters....food freezers. lost model alarms.....:)

Any ideas - Rotary momentary switch?

If you have the room internally , one could arrange the rotary switch to operate mini relays on a momentry basis. Use the clean contacts in you main circuit.
